Vegetology is a company based in the UK that manufactures vegan-friendly dietary supplements. They were the first on the market with vegan-friendly Omega 3 made from algae and D3 vitamin made from moss; which they call Vitashine.

Vegetology strives to find plant-based, alternative ingredients that provide better results. They create 100% vegetarian and vegan supplements that are registered with the Vegetarian Society and the Vegan Society. Vegetology was the first on the market with vegan-friendly Omega 3 made from algae and D3 vitamin made from moss. Most omega 3 supplements use unsustainable fish oil. They wanted to use an environmentally friendly alternative. Other vegan-friendly omega-3 supplements used ALA omega-3, which is not as effective as omega 3 (simply put, it doesn’t easily convert to usable EPA and DHA in the body). So they created a unique Opti3 complex. This is a rare combination of algae and plant-based ingredients that provide the body with proven levels of EPA and DHA, in combination with a dose of vegan vitamin D3.

Their exclusive vegan vitamin D3 (cholecalciferol) comes from a special, organic plant source which is a lichen. Lichens are small, unique plant species made up of a symbiotic union of a fungus and an alga. This gives them unique attributes such as surviving in extreme climates and the ability to grow and collect meaningful levels of useful nutrients, including vitamin D3.
