Facts: Bicarbonate is made from sodium salt from carbonic acid, a natural combination of carbon dioxide and water. Bicarbonate can be purified to almost 100% and should not be confused with baking powder, which consists of sodium bicarbonate mixed with stabilizing and anti-caking agents.
