The mineral iodine is isolated in the thyroid gland and then attached to the amino acid L-tyrosine to form thyroxine (T4).
Adequate amounts of proper nutrition are required for the thyroid to function effectively. When the hormone T4 (thyroxine) is formed in the thyroid gland, it must then be converted to T3 (triiodothyronine) in the body to function and be absorbed properly. The product SF784 from Thorne Research contains the nutrients used in the body's production and conversion of thyroid hormones.
Adult dosage: 2 capsules twice daily with food.
Contraindications: Do not use in cases of hyperthyroidism, simultaneously with MAO inhibitors (antidepressant medications), or if you have skin cancer. If you are taking thyroid-regulating medications, consult your physician.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. Food supplements should not be used as a substitute for a varied diet. Store in a dry place and keep out of reach of children.
