Hazelnuts
Hazelnuts originate from Europe and were certainly appreciated by Stone Age peoples, as they were one of the few good vegetable sources of fat and protein. They contain a good amount of vitamin E and minerals. They are excellent in desserts, as a vegetable milk, in muesli, on salads or in chocolate.
