Klippan Yllefabrik Wool Blanket - Earth
Klippan's wool blanket Earth is a classic fringed blanket made from 50% recycled wool and 50% lamb's wool. The blanket is equally beautiful on both sides.
The blanket looks great on the sofa, bed, or patio. This is a blanket that suits most occasions where you need a beautiful and warming wool blanket. Wool has excellent properties. For example, you don't need to wash wool blankets/throws very often as they have self-cleaning properties. The wool itself is also dirt-resistant and dirt stays on the surface, this is because the wool contains natural fats.
Color: Light grey
Size: 130 x 200 cm.
Care: It's easy to freshen up wool blankets; hang your wool blanket outdoors when it's slightly humid, and it will clean itself. If you still want to wash the blanket, we ask you to follow the washing instructions for each blanket/throw.
Washing instructions: Machine wash at 30 degrees, wool program only. Wash separately. Iron at medium temperature. Do not tumble dry. Do not use bleach.
All wool has a tendency to pill over time. The finer the wool, the more sensitive it is. Pilling occurs from friction. This means you should avoid putting too much strain on the blankets; for example, they are not suitable as seat cushions or for covering sofas. To keep the blankets soft and airy, you need to brush them up. A blanket can be brushed several times using, for example, a velcro brush or a steel comb. Hold the velcro brush vertically and grip both ends with your thumb and index finger. The bend of the velcro bristles should be in the same direction as you intend to brush. If you're holding it correctly, it should be easy to brush, not jerky and heavy. Brush the blanket from the inside out with long, even, sweeping strokes. Be careful not to brush too hard as it's easy to get caught and pull out too many wool fibers. Go through the blanket piece by piece until it's airy and even on the surface. Finish by hanging out and shaking the blanket.
Material: Made from 50% recycled wool and 50% lamb's wool (Lamb's wool refers to the first shearing of a sheep that is no more than six months old). The wool comes from New Zealand and is mulesing-free. Dyed with heavy metal-free dyes, not chlorine bleached. Swedish design, manufactured in the company's own factory in Riga, Latvia. Klippan Yllefabrik actively works in their factory to reduce production waste. For example, they collect fibers that would otherwise be discarded and use this material to produce blankets made of 50% recycled wool and 50% new wool. The fibers come from carding machine waste or yarn remnants and are torn up in a special machine before going back into production.
Facts: Klippan Yllefabrik is a family business founded in 1879. Their philosophy is to combine Swedish design with their long tradition of textile expertise. Klippan continuously develops new collections in collaboration with renowned designers, and all blankets are manufactured from scratch in their own factory. They always use natural materials and choose organic alternatives whenever possible.
