Biodegradation Process: When you place a product made from plant fibers in warm, moist conditions, such as a compost heap or buried in the ground, it will start to break down. This in turn causes the fibers to decompose, and gradually the entire product breaks down completely. This process usually takes approximately 2 to 3 years depending on environmental conditions.
Tips: When your child has finished using their toothbrush holder and no one needs to inherit it, the child can plant it in the garden. Drill some holes in the bottom of the mug so that water can drain through. When the mug is completely buried, plant some flower seeds that your child likes in the soil above the mug. Water and watch how the flowers grow. Over the next few years, the mug will break down and feed nutrients to the flowers while helping the environment.
