Akamuti's organic coconut oil is fairly sourced from a family farm in the Pacific. It has a lovely natural, mild coconut aroma as it is neither deodorized nor fractionated. It has a pure white color.
Wonderful for dry skin
It helps reduce dry skin and aids in removing the outer layer of dead skin cells, making the skin smoother. At the same time, coconut oil strengthens the skin. Coconut oil is suitable as both a body lotion and massage oil.
Wonderful for dry hair
Organic coconut oil is wonderful to use as a conditioner because it softens the hair and scalp. Feel free to use coconut oil as a treatment before washing to combat dandruff. Coconut oil is renowned for its ability to strengthen the structure of damaged hair. It makes hair shiny and soft and nourishes it with minerals such as magnesium, potassium, calcium, and iron.
Butter and oil in one
Coconut oil is like coconut "butter" at normal room temperature (softer than shea butter) and melts quickly into the skin. If you keep it in a warm place (for example, on a sunny windowsill), it will melt and become a light oil, then solidify again when it gets cooler. This does not affect the quality.
Organic Fairtrade Cold Pressed Coconut Oil (Cocos nucifera).
Usage for the body: Use coconut oil as a moisturizer; the skin absorbs coconut oil easily.
Usage for hair: The best way to use coconut oil is to gently massage the oil into the scalp and leave it on for up to 15 minutes before shampooing. (You can leave the oil on as long as you want, but it becomes much harder to wash out once it cools down!). You can also apply a little oil to the hair ends for extra shine or to prevent split ends.
Here are 15 tips on how you can use coconut oil for the body:
- Moisturizer – you can simply apply it all over the body. Coconut oil is good for damaged skin and nourishes all dry areas as well as soothes eczema.
- Eye cream – apply a little under the eyes to reduce puffiness, bags, and wrinkles.
- Aftershave – coconut oil helps heal your skin after shaving without clogging pores.
- Treatment for dry scalp – take a tablespoon of coconut oil and work it into your dry scalp. Leave for about 15 minutes.
- “Hair gel” – rub a little between your palms and scrunch into the hair (for short and curly hair).
- Toothpaste – mix coconut oil and baking soda and put a little on your toothbrush.
- Mouthwash – take some coconut oil and keep it in your mouth for about 5 minutes while swishing it around.
- Makeup remover – take a dollop of coconut oil and a cotton pad to remove makeup.
- Lip balm – just rub a little on your lips.
- Massage oil – take some and massage wherever you want.
- Lubricant – a completely natural and totally safe lubricant.
- Cream for stretch marks – massage into the desired area.
- Body scrub – mix coconut oil and organic raw cane sugar and rub around! Rinse off and your skin will be super soft! You can also add other organic oils (e.g., avocado), an essential oil, and honey if you want more ingredients and fragrance.
- For scrapes and cuts – coconut oil forms a thin layer that protects the wound from dust and bacteria. Coconut oil also speeds up the healing process of bruises by repairing damaged tissues.
This organic coconut oil comes from family farms where individual families work together to collect and process small amounts of coconuts daily in Indonesian island communities across the Pacific.
This special small-scale system ensures that the oil is of the highest quality. The processing is also very sustainable—no waste. Every part of the coconut is used in some form.
Coconut production plays a central role in the lives of coastal communities, many of which are now endangered. By purchasing this fair-trade coconut oil, we support the livelihoods of island communities along with their languages, cultures, and beautiful forests. It provides them with sustainable employment, a better standard of living, and long-term protection for sensitive ecosystems.
