Good gut bacteria, lactic acid bacteria or so-called probiotics are healthy bacteria responsible for nutrient absorption and supporting the immune system, and they can certainly be used in cooking. Here we share three vegan-friendly ice pop recipes.
Strawberry Smile for children
This makes about 4 ice pops, the number depends on what type of ice pop molds you use.
5 dl fresh strawberries
Juice from 1 lime
1.2 dl coconut water
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp probiotics for children
How do you make it?
Mix all ingredients, including the probiotic powder, then pour the liquid into about four ice pop molds.
Save some fruit slices and place them in the mold before pouring in the liquid to create beautiful patterns.
Place in the freezer. Let the ice pops stay in the freezer for at least three hours before serving.
Coconut Crazy for adults
This makes about 4 ice pops, the number depends on what type of ice pop molds you use.
1 can coconut milk (not light)
1 dl finely chopped and unsweetened dried coconut
1 ½ tbsp honey
Kiwi, strawberries and whole blueberries
2 probiotic capsules, e.g. Lactovitalis Pro
How do you make it?
Mix all ingredients (open the probiotic capsules and pour out the contents).
Then pour the liquid into about four ice pop molds.
Save some whole fruit slices and/or berries and place them in the mold before pouring in the liquid to create beautiful patterns. You can press a slice of fruit against the side of the ice pop mold or place it at the bottom if you use horizontal ice pop molds.
Place in the freezer. Let the ice pops stay in the freezer for at least three hours before serving.
Cashew Yogurt
You can also use yogurt as a base for ice pops. This amazingly delicious yogurt is made from cashew nuts and is very easy to prepare. It can be used for many things such as ice pops, yogurt for breakfast, cooking, and more. Your stomach will thank you!
3 dl cashew nuts (organic and natural)
3 dl lukewarm water approx. 42 degrees, mix boiled water with cold water until you reach the right temperature.
2 probiotic capsules, e.g. Lactovitalis Pro.
How do you make it?
Mix the nuts with water until it has a smooth and moderately thick consistency - it should resemble yogurt.
Open the probiotic capsules and pour out the contents. Mix again.
Pour into a glass jar, cover it and let it stand at room temperature for 10 hours, preferably overnight.
Now you have a super delicious, slightly tangy yogurt for breakfast. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
