Black Liquid Soap
This African black soap is traditionally handmade and fair-trade certified by women's cooperatives in Ghana, West Africa. It is made with pure, organically grown shea butter, palm oil, and cocoa butter.
This African soap is made with shea butter and palm oil, and lye from vegetable ash, such as cocoa shells. This is the oldest and most traditional way of making soap, as ash has been used for thousands of years to create a lye solution. This process occurs by leaving ash and water together for a period until it is strong enough to convert fat/oil into soap.
The result is saponified shea butter and saponified palm oil. There is no lye remaining in the finished product after the process is complete. This soap is made for Akamuti by producers directly in Ghana, West Africa under fair trade conditions.
No chemicals, preservatives, or synthetic fragrances are added. This soap has no added fragrance at all.
Body use: Liquid dark soap suitable for both hand washing and as a soap for the entire body. It is economical and cleans well.
Face use: African Black Soap is a very healthy soap for the skin due to its purity and simplicity. As a facial soap, it works well for oily skin and against acne, however, it is not suitable for dry faces. It is said to counteract rashes, problem skin, and eczema-prone skin as it contains a lot of shea butter**.**
Hair soap use: Suitable as a shampoo for short hair and afro hair, it may be too "heavy" for thin and long hair.
