Black Bar Soap
This beautiful African black soap is traditionally handmade and fair trade certified by a women's cooperative in Ghana, West Africa. It is made with 50% pure, organically grown shea butter. The lye used in the saponification process is made from the ashes of dried cocoa pods. No chemicals, preservatives, or fragrances are added. The black color of the soap develops as a result of the saponification process. It has a neutral scent and a wonderfully creamy lather that leaves the skin moisturized and soft.
Who is it for? As a body soap for everyone. African Black Soap is a very healthy soap for the skin due to its purity and simplicity. It leaves the skin supple and soft. As a facial soap, it works excellently for oily skin with a tendency toward acne (not for dry faces). It counteracts rashes and eczema-prone skin.
Storage: This soap absorbs water easily, so keep it on a soap dish. It is softer
is softer than commercial soap, so it's easy to cut off a piece and use a small piece at a time. Since this is a handmade product, you might find a piece of gravel or wood in it, so rub it in your hands first, rather than directly on your body.
Scent: We find it has a neutral scent, not particularly strong, as the soap has no added fragrance.
