Organic Lucuma
This exotic Peruvian fruit is also known as the "Golden Incan Fruit". In Peru, Lucuma has been honored both spiritually and culinarily since ancient times, and still remains prominent in Peruvian desserts and festivities.
In South America, Lucuma is considered a healthy alternative to sweeteners, being one of the most popular in South America. With a sugar content of 13%, it's not sugar itself, but can still provide a sweet taste. With naturally occurring beta-carotene, B vitamins, and iron, lucuma powder is a welcome alternative to the "empty calories" found in white sugar. The GI is low (GI7).

Lucuma grows in the Oxapampa region of the Peruvian Andes. The fruit naturally falls to the ground when ripe and is allowed to remain there for several more days to develop its truly sweet and unique flavor. After a patient wait, the fruit is picked up, peeled, separated from its seeds, and dried before being ground into a fine fruit powder.
Lucuma "candy" recipe:
- 1 dl almond butter
- ½ dl coconut oil
- 2 tbsp lucuma powder
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- 2 tbsp goji berries
- 1 tbsp cacao nibs
Mix everything together in a bowl. Shape into cubes and refrigerate for one hour.
Contents: 100% organic Lucuma, raw, kosher, gluten-free and vegan. Packaged in a facility that also processes nuts.
