What does it do: Cultivator's organic hair dye doesn't damage the hair but instead protects and nourishes it. The hair dye combines with your individual hair color, which means the color result is individual and unique! For best results, choose a color that is close to your natural hair color. Note that Cultivator's hair dyes do not bleach the hair and therefore can never give a lighter result than your existing hair color.
Gray Hair: Gray hair is difficult to cover. It may take 2-3 colorings to achieve full coverage. For hair that doesn't absorb color well, we recommend a 2-step coloring process where you first color with a red shade and then color with a brown to black shade. Red pigments easily attach to gray/white hair, and the subsequent color (anything from brown to black) can then attach to the red pigments. Since the hair color is completely natural, you can color frequently without damaging your hair.
Chemically Treated Hair:
Wait 5-6 weeks before coloring with Cultivator's hair colors if you have recently colored your hair with chemical dyes. The first coloring acts as a pre-treatment where chemicals break down and wash away. The subsequent colorings will provide more color results.
Suitable for: Everyone, but do not use if you are allergic to henna or any of the herbs. Always do a strand test. Perform an allergy test 48 hours before the first coloring by mixing a small amount of the color mixture and applying it to e.g. the crook of your arm.
Brown works best on light blonde to dark blonde, and light brown to medium brown hair.
Usage: Before you begin, read the instructions carefully. Always do a strand test before coloring all of your hair.
We advise against bleaching the hair after coloring with our herbal hair dyes.
MIX YOUR HAIR COLOR:
It works excellently to mix powders of different shades for a unique color result. Mix the powder in a bowl (not metal) with lukewarm water. Add water gradually until you achieve a creamy consistency.
- 1-2 sachets (25-50 g) is sufficient for short hair.
- 2-3 sachets (50-75 g) is sufficient for medium-length hair.
- 3-4 sachets (75-100 g) is sufficient for shoulder-length hair.
COLORING:
Use a hair dye brush/comb. Best applied to dry hair. Start applying the hair color at the roots and work your way out to the lengths, gray hair needs a bit more hair color. After you have applied the color over all your hair, put on the included plastic cap.
Wait 30-120 minutes before rinsing out the hair color. The longer you let the color process, the darker the shade will become. Heat can be applied with e.g. a hairdryer to intensify the result. Rinse the hair until the water runs clear.
Do not shampoo immediately after coloring; wait at least 24 hours before shampooing. Organic conditioner without surfactants (soap substances can be used).
You can also do multiple colorings for a more intense result. Remember to wait 12 hours before the next coloring session, as the color oxidizes and can become darker within these 12 hours.
