Shampoo Bar with Chamomile & Apple Cider
A richly lathering and creamy shampoo bar from Ekendahls. The shampoo bar has a calming effect on the skin and scalp. Chamomile contains chamazulene, which has anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, making it suitable for sensitive skin. The shampoo bar also contains white clay that has a calming effect and provides beneficial minerals and trace elements.
The apple cider in the shampoo bar is cold-pressed (from Ekendahls' own apples) and is considered effective against itchy scalp and oily hair. The cider adds shine to the hair while making it more manageable. Essential oils of litsea cubeba, which has sebum-balancing properties, and tea tree, which acts as an antibacterial agent, can be helpful with dandruff problems. Ekendahls' soaps are handmade, which means they don't always come in exactly the same shape, size, or appearance.
Scent: The apple cider and essential oils give the soap a fresh and tangy fragrance.
Size: 110 - 120 g.
Suitable for: Suits most hair types and is especially good for normal to oily hair.
How to use: Thoroughly wet your hair and the soap, work up a lather by rubbing the soap between your palms or directly against the scalp. Massage the soap into the scalp and then rinse thoroughly with water. If desired, you can do an acid rinse after shampooing to restore the pH balance.
It may take some time for your hair and scalp to adjust to using a natural shampoo bar. Initially, your hair might feel greasy and you may need to wash it more frequently.
This is because commercial shampoos are strongly degreasing, and the scalp must compensate by producing more oil. However, most hair and scalps adjust quite quickly to a mild shampoo bar.
Care: Take good care of your soap. Let it drain and dry after use. This will make the soap last longer.
Facts: Ekendahls is a small family business started by a mother and daughter, two dedicated individuals who both felt they had enough of skin-related issues such as eczema and acne. Together, they chose to delve into the art of developing skincare products from natural raw materials, and after many hours of research and knowledge gathering, the Ekendahls brand was finally launched.
This is where to turn if you're looking for certified organic body care products containing 100% natural ingredients. The ingredients in Ekendahls' eco-products range from marigolds to thistle oil, and some of the plants used come from the family's own garden. Others are foraged from the wild, and common to all final product formulations is that they are as organic as humanly possible. Additionally, all products are completely free from GMOs, silicones, palm oil, preservatives, surfactants such as SLS and SLES – to name just a few of the highly conscious choices the company has made. The products are safety assessed and registered with CPNP.
