Myrrh is a thick, aromatic, reddish-orange resin that has been used by people from Africa and the Middle East for thousands of years. This rich, sticky oil is highly valued as a powerful skin cleanser. The scent can be described as dark, earthy and smoky, and is calming.
- It is said to be a rejuvenating oil, used in facial oils, facial treatments and firming body oils as it has an astringent effect. Start with 2-3 drops to 10 ml of oil and increase if desired.
- Feel free to blend myrrh with your favorite carrier oil such as almond oil, argan oil, jojoba oil, grapeseed oil, for a highly effective facial oil that keeps skin supple and fresh.
- Works well to blend with nail care oil as myrrh is considered to strengthen nails and prevent them from becoming brittle.
- Suitable as a meditation oil in an aroma lamp. The oil is indeed calming (the oil is believed to help open the mind to spirituality).
NOTE! Myrrh oil should not be used on children or during pregnancy/breastfeeding.

Safety with Essential Oils:

Many are not. *A simple skin patch test is recommended if hypersensitivity is suspected. *Essential oils should never be ingested in concentrated form - it can be life-threatening! *Citrus oils such as bergamot, lemon, grapefruit, and lime make the skin photosensitive. Avoid strong sunlight and tanning beds for at least 24 hours after skin application. *Each bottle should have a dropper insert for safe dosing. *Keep essential oils out of sight and reach of children. *Store the oil in a dark, cool, and airtight place to minimize oxidation.
