Neem Oil
This organic neem oil is pressed from seeds and kernels of the neem tree to obtain the most potent oil. The oil is a fatty oil and can become completely solid at colder temperatures. If you want to make it more fluid, you can gently warm it in a water bath.
For normal, mature and dry skin. Neem oil is suitable for all skin types but is considered especially beneficial for dry skin.
The oil's thick consistency provides protection, and its moisturizing properties help against typical dry skin problems such as itching and red rashes.
Neem oil is rich in beneficial essential fatty acids and contains high amounts of oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. This helps keep the skin smooth and even.
Its antibacterial effects also make the oil good for use on problem areas, small wounds, and skin fungi.
Neem oil is highly restorative and can help reduce scars, wrinkles, and eczema.
Neem oil can be used pure, but due to its strong scent, it's better to mix it with other vegetable oils and/or essential oils. The scent is very sharp and distinct, and is usually not appreciated.
Neem is not recommended during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.
Areas of Use:
Dandruff: Neem oil is effective against dandruff and itchy scalp. Mix a few drops of neem oil with shampoo to help treat itchy dandruff on the scalp. Leave it on for about 2 minutes, then rinse as usual.
Repel insects and bites: Mix neem oil with coconut oil and apply to the skin. Neem oil and coconut oil are also good for the skin, and insects dislike the smell of neem. Unfortunately, we usually don't like the smell of neem either, so you can advantageously add essential oils to mask the scent. Insects don't like lemongrass or lavender.
Head lice: Take two parts organic vegetable oil and one part neem oil, preferably add a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oil. Be extra thorough on the neck and behind the ears. Make sure to oil the hair all the way to the tips. Leave it on for at least 8 hours or overnight. Wash out with an organic shampoo, preferably with lavender, tea tree, or rosemary. Conditioner is needed to dissolve the thick oil. Afterward, comb the hair carefully with a nit comb to remove dead lice and eggs. Repeat the entire process after a week. Comb the hair daily for 14 days with a nit comb and wash all bedding.
Pesticide: As a natural pesticide, neem oil can be used to prevent pests in the garden. Mix 1 teaspoon of neem oil with 2.5 ml of garden-safe liquid soap. Then add this solution to 1 liter of water. This can then be sprayed on your plants to get rid of insects - but be careful if you have ladybugs as it can harm them too. You can also apply the neem oil directly to the leaves.
