Lavender Facial Toner
Hydrolats are a byproduct of the distillation of herbs and flowers during the production of essential oils. All are antiseptic. They are used, among other things, as mild facial toners. They are wonderful for moisturizing/cleansing the face. Flower water prepares the skin for cream, has a mild astringent and cooling effect on the skin.
Lavender has a soothing effect on sensitive skin and provides mild cleansing for oily skin. It's an excellent skin tonic with a calming scent that both nourishes and cleanses. Lavender is also suitable for acne, eczema, and inflamed skin. Feel free to use it on sunburns or insect bites.
Lavender water is suitable as a facial toner for cleansing and calming normal skin, dry skin, oily skin, and sensitive skin. The floral water has a soothing lavender scent. Note: The fact that hydrosols are mild does not mean they have a mild scent - they are quite fragrant as they are flower/herb water.
Recommended skin type: all skin types.
Usage: Apply undiluted on cotton over the face and let dry.
With facial cream: Apply a small amount directly to the face and while the skin is still "damp", apply your facial cream. This way, your facial cream will feel even "lighter" and your jar will last longer. Should be used within 6 months after opening.
Tips: Also great for use on sunburn or insect bites.
