Vermont Soap Organics liquid soap is made from selected, certified organic oils from coconut, olive, and jojoba oils. They are then blended at precise temperatures with an alkaline solution.

To make soap, you need oil (which is an acid) and an alkali base. Traditionally, potassium hydroxide is used as the base for making liquid soap, and sodium hydroxide for making solid soap. However, this is not present in the final product. This is one of the differences between organic handmade soap and conventional, mass-produced soap - organic, mild soap doesn't dry out the skin as the alkali base is removed from the final product.

This soap can also be used for dishes, laundry and cleaning:

For floors, walls and car washing: Add approximately 0.5 - 1 dl (3-6 tablespoons) of liquid soap to a bucket of warm water. Clean as usual and let dry.
Laundry: Use approximately 0.5-0.8 dl (3-5 tablespoons) per load - slightly more for hard water. Liquid soap can be neutralized by detergent residue in the machine, so use sufficient amount - you may need to use a bit extra the first time. Perfect for hand washing most silk fabrics, delicates and wool.
For Stain Removal: Wet the surface and apply soap. Work the soap into the material from multiple angles and let it sit for a while. Blot the stain with a cloth or towel and rinse.
General cleaning: Fill a clean spray bottle with warm water, add 5% of the concentrate, spray and wipe. Perfect for all water-safe surfaces. Safe and non-toxic for humans, plants and pets.
Bathroom cleaning: Use the soap on a sponge on tiles or porcelain, rinse.
