Organic Hibiscus
Malin i Ratan's organic hibiscus is an excellent choice to use as an acid rinse in your hair care routine. If you wash your hair with organic handmade soap, it's beneficial to finish with an acid rinse occasionally. This helps restore the scalp's pH balance, adds shine, and makes the hair easier to detangle.
This acid rinse consists of an infusion (tea) of hibiscus leaves which have a low pH value. Hibiscus leaves are a fragrant alternative to apple cider vinegar, which is otherwise commonly used as an acid rinse. The infusion can also be poured into a spray bottle and sprayed onto towel-dried hair after washing.
Fragrance: Hibiscus.
Dosage: Mix 1 teaspoon of hibiscus flowers with 100ml of hot water, let it steep and strain. Mixed infusion should be used immediately. It can be stored in the refrigerator for a few days if you've been careful with hygiene and cleanliness.
Usage: Pour the infusion over the scalp and let it run through the hair after washing with organic soap, then rinse out. Always finish the hair wash with a cold rinse, using cold water to rinse the hair lengths so that the hair strands close. An acidic rinse after hair washing can also counteract the effects of hard (calcium-rich) water.
NOTE: The hibiscus is red and should be avoided on very blonde hair; also be careful of stains on light-colored textiles.
Weight: 100 g. Sufficient for approximately 50 acid rinses
