Myrrh Resin
Myrrh is one of the most important resins that has been identified and used in various spiritual contexts across all religions and beliefs since ancient times. Myrrh is, for example, one of the precious offerings that the wise men brought in the Bible. However, it was used long before the Christian era and by all the great civilizations in the Middle East.
Myrrh is said to calm the nervous system, body, and soul. It is also said to invite the awakening of feminine qualities (yin) and receptivity. Additionally, it provides a greater sensitivity to the surrounding world.
Myrrh has a balsamic anise-like scent that is said to calm the nervous system, body, and soul.
How to use it?
Myrrh resin is used alone or in a mixture with other resins. To release the fragrance, it should be heated in an aroma lamp or burned on glowing charcoal.
In aroma diffuser / oil burner (see image):
Fill the bowl to 2/3 with sand. Light the candle and place your resin blend on the sand. For a gentler emission, you can replace the sand with water and make sure to refill before it evaporates completely, so the blend doesn't burn.
The fragrance is released after a few minutes, when the sand or water reaches a warmer temperature.
