Omega MM900 Slow Masticating Celery Juicer
The Omega MM900HDC is a slow juicer specifically designed for making celery juice. The low speed of the juicer ensures that vitamins, minerals, and enzymes are preserved, meaning minimal oxygen is mixed in and oxidation occurs more slowly. The 'C' stands for Chrome finish.
What are the advantages of the Omega MM900 Juicer?
Cold-pressing slow juicer for the best juice quality
To provide gentle extraction, the Omega Juicer uses low-speed extraction, operating at just 80 rotations per minute to keep the temperature very low. Additionally, the low speed ensures that very little oxygen mixes with the freshly pressed juice, which would otherwise cause oxidation and significantly reduce the nutritional value of the finished juice.
It has a quiet yet powerful motor with gear reduction. It might seem contradictory that a 200W motor can be effective when many juicers on the market have power ratings over 500W. The high-wattage models that typically grate/centrifuge vegetables and fruits make juice quickly and grind everything. The advantage of the slow speed is that minimal heat is generated (meaning vitamins, minerals, and enzymes survive) and maximum juice is extracted from the fibers and cell membranes.
Easy to Use & Clean
The juicer has a large feed chute so you can spend less time on preparation before juicing. It has an extra-large feeding tube and a built-in handle for increased convenience. You still need to juice with patience, slowly, otherwise it can go too fast and it shouldn't get too hot in the pressing chamber. The Omega is easy to clean with relatively few parts to wash.
Is the Omega Juicer Right for Me?
The Omega is an excellent choice if you primarily want to make celery juice in the morning and are looking for an affordable juicer that's easy to handle.
The Omega Juicer & Tribest Solostar 4 maintain the same quality and are quite similar; they both have 1 auger for cold pressing and are both easy to clean compared to many other juicers. The difference is that the Omega comes with two end caps, which makes the juicer especially suitable for celery as it has a special, adjustable end cap specifically for this purpose. You can of course also press other types of fruits and vegetables, but you'll need to change the end cap when doing so.
If you want to juice a variety of ingredients including lots of fruits, herbs, wheatgrass, berries, or different hard root vegetables, we recommend a juicer with 2 augers to ensure it can juice everything. Examples include Greenstar Elite, Greenstar Pro or Angel Juicer. They are in a class of their own.
If you find that too expensive, you can absolutely choose one with 1 auger, but they juice a bit slower and are more sensitive. Not everyone is satisfied with a single auger juicer. If you force the Omega machine, accidents can happen. You simply need more patience with a single auger juicer.
We want you to consider your choice carefully, as we do not accept returns on a used juicer that functions properly just because you didn't like how it juices afterward. However, we are always here to help you if the machine doesn't work properly or if a machine part breaks. All our kitchen appliances come with a warranty period.
Here is important information about the Omega Juicer MM900 that you need to know:
Assembly
- When assembling for juicing, follow the image in the manual on page 5. Start with the lowest number 1, then 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7. When you're done juicing, do the opposite - start with the highest number 7, then 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Otherwise, the hole in the pressing housing can be damaged and the pressing roller will scrape against the yellow ring and
yellow ring and cracks may appear around the ring.
- Special information about the celery end cap: if temporarily removed, it needs to be replaced in the same way, i.e., with the flat surface facing up. See image in additional pictures.
Other juicing information
When juicing fruits and other items with hard/small seeds, we recommend removing all seeds beforehand as the filter risks breaking.
You need to juice with patience, slowly, otherwise it can go too fast and it must not get too hot in the pressing house.
Do not overfill the feeding tube. Feed the celery slowly so that the machine can keep up, one stalk at a time. Let most of the juice drain out before pushing in a new stalk. You can also use the reverse mode if you see clumping occurring.
It is also good for the celery to be cold and have been in the refrigerator just before juicing. Another factor affecting yield is the quality of celery, which varies throughout the year in different countries.
The setting mode on the endcap is important. Begin by turning the endcap clockwise so it's secured on the "adjustable endcap" - this provides the lowest resistance for fiber extraction. If you want to increase juice extraction, you can carefully turn the celery endcap counterclockwise, which increases resistance for fiber output. However, this causes the press housing to heat up, so be careful - if the press housing gets too hot, the celery endcap can become deformed.
Fiber Pulp
- In our experience, it's difficult to completely avoid some "fiber pulp" with any juicing machine. However, there are two methods worth trying if you want to reduce the remaining fiber:
a) Run the reverse function for a short while and then forward again after you're done. This gives the remaining fibers a chance to go through. b) Feed some of the fibers that have already come out through the top again, so they go through a second time. NOTE! The machine parts can break if you refeed the fibers multiple times, this is not covered by the warranty.
The following is included in the package (please see image):
