Organic Bee Pollen
Bee pollen is one of the most complete, nutritious foods found in nature and contains, among other things:
- Almost all known vitamins and minerals, especially B vitamins.
- All essential amino acids - with 50% more bioavailable protein than beef.
- Most enzymes and coenzymes that the body needs.
- Antioxidants.
- Essential fatty acids.
- Essential sugars (known as "glyconutrients").
All these nutrients are in their most bioavailable form and are easily absorbed by the body. Bee pollen has therefore traditionally been used as a natural "vitamin tablet" for optimal health and longevity. Bee pollen is considered to be among the top 10 most important superfoods available.
In China, Egypt, the Roman Empire, Europe and among the Aztecs, bee pollen has been highly praised for its health properties for centuries. Pollen is suitable as a supplement, for sweetening, or as a decoration on various pastries/desserts.
You can also make a face mask with pollen and honey, mix in a small bowl:
- 2 tsp pollen
- 1 tsp yogurt
- 1/4 tsp honey
Wash your face with water and then apply your mask with your fingertips over your entire face and neck. Leave space around the eyes. Leave on for about 20 minutes and then rinse off.
Adult dosage: 1 tsp per day is recommended depending on taste and need. Best taken in the morning. Note: should not be taken if allergic to bee products. If you are allergic to bee stings, we advise against consuming pollen.
Gradual increase recommended. Start with a smaller dose (about ¼ tsp) of bee pollen. It's better to eat a little and then increase the dose. It's recommended to mix the pollen with your saliva in your mouth before swallowing.
Can also be mixed with a little honey or juice. You can also soak a teaspoon in water overnight and drink it with breakfast.
Some people who consume pollen may initially experience mild forms of digestive tract irritation, headaches, or nausea due to the rich nutritional content and potency of bee pollen. Therefore, it is recommended to start with a smaller dose.
NOTE: Sometimes (very rarely) someone may be allergic to bee pollen.
Uncommon allergic reactions may include swelling, heart palpitations, and difficulty breathing. If you have never eaten bee pollen before, try placing a single grain under your tongue to check for any reaction. Then take two grains each day, slowly increasing to one teaspoon per day if you don't experience any reaction.
How is Ballot-Flurin's bee pollen produced?
When bees collect nectar from flowers to make honey, they also collect pollen by rubbing against the inside of the flower. This is what makes the bees 'fertilize' the flowers during their journey between them, making it possible for plants to reproduce. Through evolution, honey bees have developed to only collect the best, most nutritious pollen they can find, and they invest significant time and energy to do this.
For only a few hours per day (to avoid stressing the bees), our beekeepers place "pollen traps" on the beehives, which collect some of the pollen that the bees have gathered when they return home from France and Spain. (They are only allowed to take 300 units per month).
The pollen is then dried immediately after collection, and is neither heated nor processed in any other way to preserve all active substances and enzymes.
Contents: 100% raw, organic bee pollen. 210 grams in glass jar.
This bee pollen comes from Spain, specifically the Extremadura region in the mountains. It is certified organic and has been tested for pesticides. This also means:
no use of antibiotics on the bees. at least 50% organic fields within a 3 km radius around the beehives.
Manufacturer: Ballot-Flurin is located in France and takes care of the bees in a gentle way, i.e.: Apiculture Douce - Gentle Beekeeping. Their products are produced locally in the countryside away from environmental pollutants, which is very important when choosing bee products.
It is important that bee products come from beekeepers who have respect for the environment, respect for the beehive, and the language of bees. Many beekeepers today are experiencing problems with bees abandoning their hives as we destroy the environment/nature with pesticides and GMOs.
It's time to wake up and take care of our bees!
What can we do?
Well, always buy honey that is unprocessed, raw. Preferably from local beekeepers if you can find someone trustworthy who doesn't process their honey and who takes care of the bees on their terms.
Never buy honey from China.
Plant flowers and plants that bees love in your garden or on your small patch. (they love purple and blue flowers)
Choose organically grown food whenever possible.
