Organic Beeswax - Yellow Pellets
Beeswax is waxy, very fatty, and has a high melting point of 63°C. It is used in candle making, in ointments, cerates, and rich creams as a consistency agent and emollient.
Beeswax is also excellent for other applications such as: waterproofing of tents and for candle making or beeswax wraps.
Beeswax protects against weather conditions, repels cold and water, and retains heat and moisture. It also soothes irritated skin and softens dry and chapped skin. Beeswax is not absorbed by the skin but creates a fatty and waxy layer on the surface. Unlike unnatural paraffin, it doesn't clog pores and also has antibiotic properties.
The wax comes in the form of small pellets that are easy to melt. Crearome's beeswax is yellow and unprocessed, so it has a natural beeswax scent.
Beeswax is best melted in a water bath together with oil and fat. You can melt for example:
- Beeswax
- Fats such as coconut oil or cocoa butter
- Oils such as almond oil, avocado oil, or castor oil
- Plus a small amount of essential oil.
Essential oils often have antibacterial properties and provide a pleasant scent or taste if you're making a salve. There are countless recipes available online.
The mixture can then be poured into a small glass jar if you wish to make an ointment. It should be stored in a cool, dark place, preferably in the refrigerator.
