Their bees live their entire lives in the same place, in the same apiary. They don't clip the wings of their queen bees to prevent them from leaving the hive. In most commercial beekeeping operations, as much honey as possible is extracted and replaced with sugar or bee feed for the winter. They always leave honey for winter storage and supplement with bee feed. The result is smaller quantities of honey but a clear conscience and naturally high product quality.
Honey from the forest may not yield large harvests, but the taste is truly something special.
The honey they sell develops different characteristics each year depending on which flowers the bees choose to visit during summer in the various apiaries. Some years, the presence of heather is substantial, giving it a distinct taste that many consider to be the finest of all honey varieties. Other years, the presence of meadow flowers or clover may be dominant. Each year is special and leaves its unique mark on the product's taste, color, and consistency.
Nothing is added and nothing is removed. The jars contain only 100% pure honey. Järbo Bigård highly values nature and the environment, using only environmentally friendly methods in their beekeeping and taking the utmost environmental consideration in their production.
Honey is healthy. Honey contains vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, has a lower GI value than sugar and also tastes sweeter. Honey has been used by humans for thousands of years, both as a sweetener and as natural medicine. Honey contains approximately 200 different nutrients and live enzymes. It should preferably not be heated above 37 degrees as many of the beneficial substances are destroyed.

It is crucial that bee products come from beekeepers who respect the environment, the beehive, and the language of bees. Many beekeepers today face problems with bees absconding due to environmental/natural destruction through pesticides and GMOs. It's time to wake up and take care of our bees!
What can we do? Well, always buy untreated honey. Preferably from local beekeepers if you can find someone who feels right, who doesn't process their honey and who takes care of the bees on their terms. Never buy honey from China. Plant flowers and plants that bees like in your garden or on your small patch (they love purple and blue flowers). Choose organically grown food whenever possible.
"If the bee disappeared from the surface of the earth, man would have no more than four years of life left". Albert Einstein.
