Why is Primal Defense not a vegan product?
Primal Defense is cultivated in a growth medium containing milk. To produce significant amounts of bacteria, dairy products are used to provide the complex amino acids required for growing microorganisms. Since the purpose is to feed the growing organisms, the vast majority is consumed during fermentation. The final product contains neither casein nor lactose but cannot be called vegan, only vegetarian.
