Organic Macadamia Nuts
The macadamia nut is a small white nut packed with nutrients such as amino acids, antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, and healthy fats. It contains a whole 76% fat, predominantly omega 9 fats, the same healthy fatty acid found in olive oil. The macadamia nut is rich in phosphorus, manganese, and magnesium.
The macadamia nut grows on 12-18 meter tall trees in subtropical regions. Originally, the macadamia nut comes from Australia, where it is also known as the Queensland nut, named after the area where it was discovered. Today, it is cultivated in plantations across Australia as well as in parts of Africa and South America.
Usage: Macadamia nuts are delicious eaten as they are but also fantastic for making desserts. Blend nuts, some water (the amount depends on how thick you want the cream to be), a little agave syrup or yacon syrup, some vanilla powder and possibly additional flavoring like cocoa powder or carob in a good blender for a perfect cream to serve with fruit salads, berries, or chocolate mousse. You can also sprinkle the nuts on muesli, yogurt, or use them in bread baking and cooking. They are wonderful chopped and added to chocolate. They can also be mixed with other nuts or seeds if you want a mix of nutrients.
