Rasul is a mineral clay from the Atlas Mountains that cleanses your skin and hair without damaging the hair structure or the skin's natural oil barrier. With regular use, the need for hair washing gradually decreases. Does not lather. Nature's mineral alternative to soap and shampoo.
This washing clay makes hair soft and shiny while adding volume. Rasul/Rhassoul clay draws out impurities from skin and scalp, and absorbs excess sebum/skin oils. Rasul/Rhassoul consists of natural clay minerals and has been used since ancient times for washing and cleansing the body. When mixed with water, the clay swells and develops a pleasant gel-like consistency that absorbs dirt particles and excess oil. Rasul/Rhassoul is free from surfactants and is well-tolerated by the skin. It cleanses without irritation. Hair is left silky soft and shining, and skin becomes smooth.

Usage:
15 grams of Rhassoul clay powder (approx. 15 ml) absorbs 25 ml of water (hydrolats, herbal decoctions) and swells to 35-40 ml. This is sufficient for one hair/body wash. If making larger quantities, the mixture will keep for one to two weeks in a jar with a lid.
Mix with water until desired consistency is achieved. Note! Do not use metal bowls or spoons.
As a mask: apply (preferably with a soft brush) to face, body, and scalp. Leave on for 5-10 minutes, rinse off with water.
As a washing clay & mild exfoliant: use as a shower soap for the body and as a facial cleanser. Scrub with a washcloth or sponge for mild exfoliation.
As shampoo: let the mixture stand for 5-10 minutes or until the clay particles have 'softened' and achieved a gel-like consistency. You can also mix with warm water to speed up the process. Distribute the clay into the scalp and hair, massage gently and let it work for a while. Rinse with water. Repeat if necessary.
As hair mask: follow the same procedure as shampoo. Add a few drops of hair oil for dry hair. Leave on hair and scalp for 5-15 minutes. Rinse with water.

More about Rasul Clay: Rasul (also known as ghassoul, rhassoul, rassoul) is a type of clay that has been used for centuries. The Rasul clay was formed during the Tertiary period and is extracted from underground mine shafts in a valley near the Atlas Mountains, 150-200 kilometers from the city of Fès. This is the only known clay deposit of its kind in the world. Rasul clay belongs to smectite, a group of clay minerals characterized by their ability to swell when in contact with water.
After the clay is extracted from the mines, it is first washed with water and spread out on large flat surfaces to dry in the sun. Once dried, it is broken down into pieces or powder. Mineralogical and chemical controls are regularly performed to ensure consistent quality that meets Moroccan government standards. The clay contains no microorganisms.
The clay is locally called Ghassoul, which comes from the Arabic word "rassala" meaning to wash. Rasul clay plays an essential role in the ritual of the Turkish bath (Hammam) today. In Morocco and Tunisia, the clay is sold in its natural state, and the recipes for its preparation are passed down from mother to daughter. Rasul clay is most commonly mixed with orange blossom water (neroli) or rose water and/or essential oils.
