When using a sage bundle, light the end of the bundle with a match or candle and then extinguish the flame. The sage should smoke, not burn. Fan the smoke using your hand or a feather.
When you have completed the cleansing, extinguish the sage in a fireproof container or with a little water. A sage bundle can be used many times. It's a beautiful ceremony you can perform as often as you wish.
