Organic Mulberries
Mulberries are actually not berries but fruits, though they are still counted among superberries. Mulberries come from a tree (Morus alba L.) that has been a very important tree in Asia for a long time. This is because silkworms, which spin silk threads, only eat mulberry tree leaves. The tree thus grows in large parts of Asia but is also found in Europe.
There are mulberries ranging from white, pink, and red to black, and the trees they grow on are 5-20 meters tall. Mulberries have long been used in traditional folk medicine, and writings have been found dating back to ancient times in China and Greece. In folk medicine, all different parts of the tree have been used - both roots, bark, leaves, and fruits.
Mulberries are not just delicious but contain vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients such as proteins, fiber, bioflavonoids, and polyphenols. Mulberries are a perfect choice when you're craving something sweet.
Mulberries recipe 1:
- 4-5dl frozen berries (blueberries, raspberries, blackberries)
- 1dl goji berries
- 1dl mulberries
- 3-4 tbsp cocoa powder
- 2 tbsp Acai Powder
- 4 tbsp hemp seeds
- 2 tbsp honey
- 2dl milk of choice
- 2dl water
Blend in a mixer, this makes quite a large smoothie, but it's so extraordinary that nothing will go to waste.
Mulberries recipe 2:
- 1 dl cashew nuts
- 4 - 5 dl water
- ½ dl mulberries
- 1 tsp vanilla powder
- a pinch of salt
Blend together in a mixer until creamy smooth.
