Organic Yerba Mate Tea

Mate or Yerba Mate is the national drink of Argentina, traditionally consumed from a gourd and sipped through a bombilla (metal straw). Misiones is one of the provinces in Argentina that produces the most Mate. Mate is also known as chimarrão or cimarrón.

Mate has stimulating properties and provides an energy boost. While it doesn't come from the Camellia Sinensis tea plant, it is rich in caffeine and is consumed much more frequently than tea or coffee in Argentina. It's a beverage that has been consumed for centuries in South America, particularly by the Guarani Indians.

Preparation: Mix about 2 tsp (1 tsp = approx. 1.5 grams) in a large cup. The ideal water temperature is 100°C.
Let steep for about 7 minutes. Sweeten if desired. Can be enjoyed both hot and cold.
