Bästa ansiktsrengöringen för torr vinterhud

Best facial cleanser for dry winter skin

Consider switching your facial cleanser now that the weather is getting colder. Cold and wind cause your skin to produce less natural skin oil, resulting in drier skin. Therefore, it is important not to use products that dry out the skin. Wash with a foaming facial wash Not many skin types benefit in the long run from a strong foaming cleanser. Fortunately, most organic skincare products are mild despite their foaming action. A foaming cleanser suits oily skin, oilier combination skin, acne-prone skin that is painful, or sensitive skin. Odylique Lenom Tea Tree Facial Wash Odylique’s foaming cleanser is antiseptic, soothing, and antibacterial. Like Suki’s cleanser, it is suitable for blemished skin. Since it is designed with sensitive skin in mind, this is a better choice if you also have easily irritated, inflamed, or redness-prone problematic skin. 100% Pure Coconut Oil Cleansing Milk If you don’t have issues with blemishes or inflamed skin but rather dry and sensitive skin, this coconut cleanser from 100% Pure is for you. It has a thin gel-like texture, moisturizes, and feels gentle on the skin. It barely foams but contains a mild soap agent that gently cleanses without drying out the skin and rinses off easily with water. Wash with a cleansing milk Cleansing milk is gentle on the skin and is a good middle ground for those who don’t quite have time for oil or find foaming cleansers too drying. A cleansing milk suits normal, dry, drier combination skin, or sensitive skin. i+m naturkosmetik Cleansing Milk i+m’s cleanser for sensitive skin has a soft texture and a mild scent of real vanilla. It is completely free of essential oils and perfumes. A wonderfully balanced cleansing milk with a pH around 5, just like the skin. Contains soothing Aloe Vera, balancing jojoba oil, and nourishing almond oil. It does exactly what it promises, i.e., cleanses the facial skin without drying out or irritating it. Wash with an oil Oil is the best choice for most skin types for the simple reason that the skin gets a deep cleanse and gentle exfoliation without disturbing its natural oil or moisture balance. Massage about 5-8 drops of oil directly onto dry, dirty skin. Place a warm, damp cloth on your face and relax for a moment. Wipe off the oil, makeup, and dirt with the cloth until all the oil is gone. Oil cleansing can be combined with other cleansers to remove stubborn makeup or used 1-2 times a week for a deeper cleanse. Oil cleansers are good for all skin types (except skin that is painful or sensitive to touch) and especially good if you wear makeup or need a deep cleanse. Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt An oil cleanser in the form of a soft balm. Wonderful for cleansing if you have dry and tight skin. The skin quickly regains its radiance and softness. Wipe off with a warm, damp cloth, just like an oil cleanser. Fushi Kalahari Melon Oil Kalahari or watermelon seed oil is good at dissolving excess sebum, has anti-aging properties, and does not clog pores. It is appreciated by all skin types, but especially by congested acne-prone and mature skin. Watermelon seed oil is also thin enough to use as a cleanser and absorbs nicely as a facial oil as well as a hair oil.

5 Best Organic Hand Soaps for Dry Skin

Good hand hygiene is important to prevent the spread of COVID-19, as well as the common cold viruses during the autumn season. Unlike in the spring, we are now dealing with cold weather, which makes our hands even drier after all the hand washing. Therefore, it is especially important to choose a soap that not only cleans but also moisturizes. I recommend the 5 best organic hand soaps that are long-lasting, clean well, and moisturize. Bar Organic Soaps Distinguish between industrial and handmade organic bar soaps. Industrially produced soaps develop ugly cracks and dry out the skin because valuable moisturizers like glycerin are missing or removed during the soap-making process. Organic artisan soaps are made from vegetable oils and fats where all nutrients and glycerin remain in the soap. The advantages of a bar organic soap are that they usually: are cheaper are concentrated have plastic-free packaging are water-free and do not require preservatives Vermont Soap – Organic Handmade Soap Lemongrass, 85 g Vermont’s bar soaps have a 200-year-old recipe and are all designed to be low-allergenic. The soap is so mild and pleasant on both hands and body. Also very long-lasting! Of all the scents, I prefer lemongrass as it has antibacterial and antifungal properties, among others. Maybe not for COVID’s sake (since it’s a virus), but it theoretically feels good to wash with in the kitchen or after using the toilet. It is not strongly scented, but I like the idea of lemongrass anyway. Grön Lycka – La Provence Bar Soap, 110 g If you love beautiful and incredibly fragrant soaps, you should treat yourself to a soap from Grön Lycka. A smart feature is that the soaps contain a bit of clay, which makes them firmer so they don’t get mushy easily. Choose Grön Lycka if you also want to wash your face with soap. They are all luxuriously nourishing and clean well at the same time. Available in three different scents to choose from. All smell divine, so it’s hard to pick a favorite. However, I am fond of lavender, so my choice is La Provence. Dr. Bronner’s – Bar Soap Baby Mild, 140 g Here you get a lot of soap for your money, so if you are a heavy user, Dr. Bronner’s might be for you. Dr. Bronner’s soaps are not only organic but also made with fairtrade ingredients. It is said that these soaps are magical as they can be used for so many things. Everything from washing dishes, cleaning, shaving, washing makeup brushes, hands, body, and hair, etc. This fragrance-free variant also works excellently for pets. The soaps are also incredibly long-lasting, effective at dissolving grease and dirt, lather nicely but still do not dry out the skin. Maybe it’s because they are enriched with extra moisturizing glycerin. Dr. Bronner’s also has liquid soaps if you prefer that. To prevent the soaps from getting mushy, I recommend a soap dish where the water can drain away, so the soap can dry after use. Check out Vermont Soap’s soap dishes. Liquid Organic Soaps The advantages of a liquid organic soap are that: they are easy to use, even for children convenient to have in the shower more nourishing and less drying compared to conventional soap I personally prefer foaming organic soaps that are also: easy to dose and hard to overdose non-sticky and fun to use long-lasting and last a long time Vermont Soap – Foaming Soap Lemongrass, 355 ml Vermont Soap’s wonderful organic soaps come in all different forms. Bar, liquid, foam, and shower gel. My favorite is the foaming variant, which feels luxurious as it contains no water but has aloe vera juice as a base. This is a super nice and mild soap. It dispenses a rich and thick foam that feels soft and gentle on the skin. The scent feels fresh and makes the soap very pleasant to have at the sink, in the shower, and kitchen. A big plus is that it is also very affordable. Eco by Sonya – Lemongrass Cleansing Foam 375 ml Eco by Sonya’s foaming soap is also water-free and has aloe vera juice as a base. If you are looking for a liquid soap that works for hands, body, and face, you should try this one. A large bottle that lasts a long time and cleans well and gently. Customers notice that their skin becomes clearer with less acne/blemishes both on the face and body. Not surprising since it is enriched with lemongrass and grapefruit, which give the soap antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. The foaming soap also removes makeup without drying out the skin. Those with dull and mature skin find that their face looks more refreshed. For those who use the Double Cleansing Method (i.e., first cleanse the face with an oil-based cleanser and then wash with a water-based cleanser), this foaming soap is nice as a “second cleanser.” This is a soap designed for hands and body, but it has become very popular as a facial soap.

5 ekologiska handkrämer som inte kladdar - test och guide

5 organic hand creams that don’t leave a greasy residue - test and guide

There are plenty of organic hand creams available. The big question is what sets them apart and which one is the best? I have tested five really good hand creams that are non-greasy and excellent for daytime use. All the hand creams in this test meet the “non-greasy” criterion. This means they neither feel oily nor sticky afterwards, so you can immediately type on your computer or phone without that sticky feeling. Eco by Sonya Hand & Nail Cream – Mango Sea Buckthorn with Vitamin C, 75 ml All Eco by Sonya’s products maintain such high quality that I suspected the hand cream would be something truly special. This is the most luxurious hand cream in this category. The scent, color, texture, and results together impress with a wow response. The hand cream provides maximum moisture and makes the hands soft and smooth instantly. When the skin is dry and tight after all the hand washing, it’s almost a liberatingly pleasant feeling to use hand cream. This hand cream gives that pleasant feeling times two. The skin becomes so smooth, relaxed, and calm, probably because moisture saturates the deeper skin layers. Over time, both the hands and cuticles stay soft and intact. The mild scent is also absolutely heavenly, with tropical fruit notes in harmony with fresh bergamot. They haven’t skimped anywhere. It may be the runniest of all in this test, but definitely not diluted. The cream contains no water but has the moisture queen aloe vera juice as its base. This is accompanied by ingredients such as coconut oil, avocado oil, glycerin, shea butter, sea buckthorn oil, carrot seed oil, and mango butter. It’s worth mentioning that 100% of the profit goes directly to vulnerable children in Kenya. The only downside is the packaging’s large opening, which doesn’t suit the somewhat runny consistency. It easily gets sticky in the lid, and you have to be careful when squeezing out the cream to avoid overdosing. A snap lid would have been preferable. Eco Cosmetics Hand Cream – Echinacea and Grape Seed Oil, 125 ml My favorite in this price range! You get a large tube of hand cream that is really good. The consistency is wonderfully creamy and smooth. It absorbs relatively quickly into the skin and provides both moisture and nourishment. The best part is that the hands stay hydrated for a long time without any stickiness. Perfect if you are a heavy user of hand creams or want a tube here and there. What lowers the rating is the scent. It’s the classic Eco Cosmetics scent (unisex and fresh) which feels a bit too strong for my nose. It doesn’t fade quickly either. I prefer discreet or luxurious scents when it comes to hand creams. Looking at the ingredients, there is echinacea extract and glycerin which provide moisture and soothe the skin. Squalane and coconut oil give that smooth feeling, and a splash of shea butter locks in moisture without stickiness or greasiness. This is a very wise and fine balance of oils and extracts. Dr Sannas Hand Cream – Colloidal Oat Linden Blossom, 75 ml Dr Sannas maintains a consistently high standard with their products, and this applies to their hand cream as well. It absorbs nicely and quickly, and as expected, leaves the skin wonderfully smooth. This provides the skin with plenty of moisture and keeps the hands hydrated for a long time. The cuticles also improve over time. I must say that in terms of results, it is quite similar to Eco by Sonya’s hand cream. It’s the kind of hand cream that strengthens the skin barrier so the skin can withstand weather exposure and frequent hand washing without cracking or flaring up in eczema. The mild notes of fresh linden blossom and bergamot fade quite quickly, which is a big plus. The packaging is neat despite its 75 ml size. The snap lid combined with the moderately sized opening makes it easy to dose. In terms of ingredients, the humectant glycerin ranks high on the list, which is good. Light oils like safflower seed oil and broccoli seed oil provide good hydration and a smooth feel. Innovative ingredients such as probiotics, colloidal oat, and malic acid in the hand cream are impressive. The hand cream does a very good job, so there’s only positive things to say about it. i+m Naturkosmetik – Sensitive Handcreme, 50 ml I know some think this is too mild, but this is a perfect day hand cream. i+m’s freestyle series is specially designed for delicate, sensitive skin and for those who cannot tolerate scented essential oils. Note that the hand cream has a faint scent of real vanilla (vanilla contains no fragrance substances that can irritate) which fades quickly. I know this has saved many sensitive hands from cracking. The cream has a light consistency that absorbs quickly. It provides plenty of moisture without irritation. This is definitely the best if you have damaged and sensitive skin or have trouble finding a hand cream you tolerate. The packaging is completely unique. Hand creams often have super sharp tube edges that totally ruin the lining of my bags or tear and damage other items inside. This hand cream has a neat package with a hygienic pump completely without sharp edges and is therefore my favorite go-to hand cream. The ingredients are kept as minimal as possible. The fewer ingredients, the less there is to react to for sensitive skin. It contains humectants like aloe vera and glycerin, mild and incredibly good oils like jojoba oil and almond oil. They have also enriched it with carrot extract. A very well-thought-out composition and whole. Thumbs up for that! Odylique – Lemon Butter Hand Smoothie, 60 ml Odylique’s products are aimed at everyone. Since the founders have eczema-prone skin, all products are also adapted for sensitive, problem skin types. The hand cream is not runny but feels very moisturizing on the skin. It penetrates deeply at lightning speed and provides plenty of moisture while leaving the skin smooth. The cream feels active and almost stimulating while the skin feels calmer. They describe the hand cream as moisturizing, soothing, and protective, while also having anti-aging effects as it is said to lighten age spots and promote firmer skin. I don’t have age spots yet, so I can’t comment on that, but it definitely makes the hands less dry over time. The scent is absolutely wonderful with a clear citrus fragrance and floral undertones. A scent I associate with high-level organic natural cosmetics. I have a certain fondness for Odylique, so my opinion may be biased. I really like this one and think it works deeply in the skin, and the feeling is positively special. The formula absorbs at express speed and keeps my hands hydrated and luxuriously smooth for a long time, and that alone! It’s worth mentioning that besides classic moisturizers, it contains antioxidant-rich oils, anti-aging sea buckthorn extract, as well as soothing aloe vera and calendula. The cream contains lactic acid, which is excellent as it helps dead skin cells to shed and lightens any pigmentation spots. However, the lactic acid and the scented essential oils can sting if you have damaged skin (such as severe eczema). If you have problems with hand creams stinging, i+m’s freestyle hand cream is preferable. Thank you very much for reading the entire article! If you constantly moisturize your hands without good results, try switching hand cream and/or soap. Also try scrubbing your hands so dead skin cells don’t become a barrier to your fantastic hand cream.

Then you should use skincare products that gradually reduce excess sebum (natural skin oil) production. Wash your face without drying it out The challenge with oily skin is that you want to wash away all the excess oil without drying out your skin. Otherwise, your skin will produce even more sebum to moisturize the dried-out skin. That’s why cleansing is a crucial step and forms the foundation of a good skincare routine. Odylique’s Tea Tree cleansing is soothing, antiseptic, and antibacterial. Best of all, it normalizes sebum production while cleansing oily skin without drying it out. Designed to also suit sensitive skin types. Odylique Lemon Tea Tree Facial Wash is available here > Use non-greasy UV protection All skin types need UV protection to keep skin youthful—meaning firm, wrinkle-free, and without brown sun spots. If you have oily skin, you need a sunscreen that absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel greasy after application. Dr. Sanna’s sunscreen is easily absorbed by the skin and also contains probiotics that boost the skin’s good microflora. Once applied, it gives a non-greasy and almost matte finish. Dr. Sanna’s Sunscreen SPF30 is an excellent sun protection for your skin. Apply a facial cream that regulates sebum production Phyto Balance facial cream keeps sebum production in check. It tightens pores and adds moisture to the skin. Perfect if you have oily skin with large or clogged pores. i+m Balance Balancing Cream is available for purchase. For dry skin This skincare routine suits you who, for various reasons, have dry skin. It could be daily exposure to dry indoor environments or aging skin that naturally produces less sebum. Your skin feels tight after showering and looks dull and lifeless in the evening. Cleanse your face with something that doesn’t foam Avoid foaming cleansers and cleanse your face with milk or oil to restore radiance and softness. A nourishing cleanser is also much better at dissolving oils and dirt. Evolve’s cleansing melt is a rich gel that transforms into a soft milk when it comes into contact with water and rinses off easily. Pat dry with a damp cloth to remove any remaining dirt. Evolve Gentle Cleansing Melt Use sunscreen that adds radiance to your skin Dry skin that already feels wrinkled really needs extra protection against UVA rays, which accelerate skin aging. Biosolis sunscreen SPF 30 is not greasy but nourishing and feels wonderful on dry skin. If your skin is very dry, it’s fine to use a facial cream under your sunscreen. Apply a facial cream that keeps skin supple for a long time Rich and oily creams rarely work alone in a simple skincare routine for dry skin. They need to be combined with serums or lighter creams to work well. In a skincare routine with so few products, you need a facial cream that provides both plenty of moisture and nourishment, so your skin stays soft for a long time without clogging pores. Evolve’s facial cream is just that! Evolve Daily Renew Facial Cream is available for purchase. Expand your skincare routine With a good basic routine, your skin will stay in great condition for a long time. If you want more and faster results or have specific skin concerns, you need to add more steps to your skincare routine. Simply build on your basic routine with more products like toner, serum, face masks, exfoliation, etc.

Sulfatfritt schampo: 8 fördelar för hår och hårbotten

Sulfate-free shampoo: 8 benefits for hair and scalp

Sulfate-free shampoos have long been a hot topic among hair enthusiasts and hairdressers. Why are sulfates used so widely in the hair industry if they are bad for hair? In this blog post, we explain what sulfates do to our hair and the benefits of a sulfate-free shampoo. What are sulfates? Sulfates are soap agents found in everything from toothpaste to detergents. They foam a lot and are very effective at dissolving oils. Common sulfates in your shampoo are sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS), sodium laureth sulfate (SLES), and ammonium laureth sulfate (ALS). There are more sulfate variants that usually end with sulfate and sulfonate. Why are sulfates popular in shampoos? Sulfates reduce surface tension and make it easier for a shampoo to foam when in contact with water. The more sulfates, the easier your shampoo spreads over the hair and creates a rich lather. The shampoo becomes incredibly economical. A small amount is enough to wash the hair thoroughly. That's where all the benefits end, as they are a bit too good at washing away oils. Why you should use sulfate-free shampoo A shampoo that cleans too strongly irritates the scalp and damages the hair over time. A shampoo that strips oils too aggressively also makes it harder for the hair's cuticle to "close." Hair problems start when the cuticles are open. Then a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner can restore hair quality. These are common signs that you need a sulfate-free shampoo: frizzy hair sensitive and irritated scalp dry hair and scalp damaged hair split ends dull and lifeless hair 1. Restore shine to your hair Do you use a lot of conditioner, hair oil, and hair masks? That's because the cuticle needs fat and moisture to close properly. In the final state, the hair is protected from external stress. When hair is completely stripped of oils, nourishing and moisturizing products become essential to restore smooth strands and shiny hair. Try switching to a sulfate-free shampoo that doesn't wash away all the oils and moisture. 2. Get stronger hair When the hair's cuticle is open, the hair not only becomes dry and rough. It becomes more hollow, and the cuticle no longer protects the inner core of the strands (cortex). The cortex plays a major role in hair strength and is where the hair's natural color pigment is found. Without protection, hair is directly damaged by sunlight, heat styling, chemicals, and friction. Hair becomes frizzy, damaged, and breaks easily. Prevent this by washing your hair without sulfates. 3. Preserve moisture and proteins Are you investing in moisturizing and protein-rich hair products? That's exactly right to maintain stronger and more beautiful hair. The next step is to start washing with a sulfate-free shampoo. Otherwise, both moisture and proteins are washed out of the hair without any positive effect. 4. Enhance curls and natural hair fall Do you have trouble enhancing your natural curls or has the natural fall disappeared? A shampoo that cleans too strongly removes moisture from the hair. Without moisture, hair becomes stiff, straighter, and hard to manage. Get your curls and natural fall back by completely excluding sulfates from your hair care routine. 5. Get rid of stubborn acne If you have tried everything and still have acne problems, it might be a good idea to review your shampoo. This is especially true if you have acne or blemishes: around the hairline on the neck and back on the shoulders and chest Sulfates damage not only the hair. The skin becomes disturbed and the skin barrier weakens. Many experience that acne problems worsen due to sulfates. Review all your hair and skin products with cleansing properties. 6. Make your hair color last longer Sulfates do not wash away your natural hair color. However, color on dyed hair fades faster. The stronger the shampoo, the more color is washed out. This especially applies to organic herbal hair dyes and toners. Even permanent chemical dyes fade if washed shortly after coloring. An easy way to preserve color is to try a mild sulfate-free shampoo. 7. Get rid of scalp problems Sulfates affect not only the hair but also the scalp. A scalp without its natural oils can itch, develop dry flakes, have disturbed pH levels, and trigger overproduction of oil. A healthy scalp is a prerequisite for healthy hair. Get rid of or at least reduce your scalp problems by choosing a gentler shampoo. 8. Prevent hair loss Sulfates do not cause hair loss but can indirectly trigger and worsen the condition. If hair loss is already a problem, it won't improve with dry and damaged hair follicles. A dry scalp also increases sebum production. Too much sebum (natural skin oil) can definitely clog hair follicles and create a favorable environment for bacteria and fungi. This in turn can cause hair loss. Therefore, try sulfate-free shampoo for a longer period for a scalp in better balance. This is how sulfate-free shampoos work Sulfate-free shampoos instead clean with other gentler cleansing agents. They produce a softer foam and: clean hair without washing away natural oils and moisture foam less are less irritating to scalp and skin Because of these properties, they may initially feel less economical, that the hair doesn't get clean and gets dirty again faster. The transition to a sulfate-free shampoo may require an adjustment period. Keep in mind that: stop feeding hair and scalp with hard-to-dissolve chemicals and substances like silicones initially, two shampoos may be needed It takes a bit more effort to distribute the shampoo and massage it into the scalp. Give the shampoo time to dissolve oils and dead skin cells. Help clean by massaging hair and scalp. Rinse thoroughly and help by massaging with your fingers so dust and dead skin cells rinse off more easily. You may need more frequent hair washes before sebum production is regulated. The scalp may need several sulfate-free weeks to balance. So be patient! When hair and scalp have adjusted to gentler shampoos, your sulfate-free shampoo will feel more concentrated, easier to distribute, and clean well. The hair will also stay clean for several days. Last but not least, both hair and scalp will feel so much better. Which sulfate-free shampoos are best? The easiest way is to buy an organic (certified) shampoo. Then you get a sulfate-free, paraben-free, silicone-free shampoo. Which one is best depends on factors like hair type, hair quality, and washing frequency. Here we give our best tips on really good sulfate-free shampoos to start with. The best transition shampoo If you want to switch from a strong foaming shampoo with sulfates, it’s best to choose one that is sulfate-free but still foams well. This is so the difference isn’t too big and the transition feels smooth. You can also continue using your so-called transition shampoo. You can gradually switch to an even milder shampoo for gentler washes. Eco Cosmetics Repair Shampoo is the most popular organic transition shampoo for those who want sulfate-free hair care. Repair Shampoo with Myrtle, Ginkgo & Jojoba, 200 ml from Eco Cosmetics The best shampoo for daily washing Choose a mild shampoo if you wash your hair every day. A nettle shampoo suits the whole family and is gentle on both hair and scalp. Logona – Essential Care Organic Nettle Shampoo, 250 ml The best shampoo to tone down yellow tones in hair Whether you have bleached hair or are naturally blonde, you can tone down yellow hues with a completely paraben- and sulfate-free shampoo. 5 benefits of vitamin C for your skin - A guide to skincare

This post is for those who want to take their skincare routine to the next level. Here we explain why it is wise to include Vitamin C in your skincare routine. What is Vitamin C? Vitamin C is an antioxidant naturally found in fruits and vegetables such as oranges, strawberries, broccoli, and kale. Generally, Vitamin C serums have the best effect on the skin. Serums reach the deeper layers of the skin and are applied after your toner and before your face cream, facial oil, SPF, and makeup. Use Vitamin C every day in your skincare routine for noticeable results and radiant, beautiful skin. Usage During the day, Vitamin C counteracts oxidative stress. In the evening, the skin barrier is strengthened, collagen production is stimulated, and damaged skin is repaired. For best results, we recommend that you: use Vitamin C both morning and evening. use sunscreen in the morning. This is because Vitamin C has a slight exfoliating effect and needs protection from breaking down by UV rays for the best effect. you should avoid combining Vitamin C with strong acids in your skincare routine. It can become too acidic (low pH) for the skin. It can also over-exfoliate the skin and lead to irritated and sensitive skin. you can start including Vitamin C in your skincare routine when you are in your late teens. Dosage Remember that a higher concentration of Vitamin C does not always mean better results. The effect starts to level off at 20% Vitamin C, so there is no reason to go far beyond 20%. Vitamin C comes in many different forms, varies in stability, and works best together with other antioxidants and substances. For example, Vitamin C becomes more stable when combined with Vitamin E and ferulic acid, making it more effective. Keep in mind that Vitamin C is very potent. If you have sensitive skin, you can start with a lower dose, for example 5%, and gradually increase as your skin gets used to it. This way, you avoid possible skin irritation. 5 benefits of Vitamin C in your skincare routine Vitamin C is a potent antioxidant that is popular for use on the skin. It not only counteracts free radicals but also has other positive effects on the skin. 1. Prevents oxidative stress Free radicals are naturally formed in our bodies when oxygen is metabolized. They are substances that easily react with other substances and can sometimes damage our cells. When high levels of free radicals are produced or when there are more free radicals than antioxidants, the body is exposed to oxidative stress. When it comes to the skin, these factors can contribute to oxidative stress: UV rays from the sun and screens air pollution smoking nutrient-poor diet alcohol Oxidative stress can: make the skin age faster cause uneven skin tone and texture cause fine lines and deep wrinkles (in later years) contribute to a weaker skin barrier make the skin dry and dehydrated break down collagen so the skin becomes less elastic Make sure to always use Vitamin C in your morning skincare routine. This neutralizes free radicals so the skin is protected throughout the day. For daily protection against oxidative stress we recommend: 100% Pure Vitamin C Serum 2. Fights hyperpigmentation and discolorations A common misconception about Vitamin C in skincare is that it bleaches the skin to make it lighter. What it does do is even out and brighten the skin tone. Vitamin C inhibits the skin’s overproduction of melanin. This lightens existing hyperpigmentation and discolorations. Regular use of Vitamin C in your skincare routine can also prevent pigmentation and uneven skin tone from developing. This happens without affecting the skin’s normal pigmentation. For uneven skin tone and pigmentation we recommend: Brightening Serum 100% Pure Vitamin C Mask Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants Ultra Riché PM Treatment 3. Firms and rejuvenates skin Because Vitamin C is strongly acidic, it encourages the skin to repair itself by increasing collagen and elastin production. Thanks to its low pH, Vitamin C also has an exfoliating effect that removes dead skin cells. This smooths out fine lines, making the skin more firm and elastic. Always include Vitamin C in your skincare routine for younger, firmer, and plumper skin. For aging or mature skin with fine lines we recommend: Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants Potent PM Serum 4. Helps against acne Vitamin C with its anti-inflammatory properties can help reduce acne breakouts. Red, inflamed skin caused by inflammation can be soothed and calmed. Additionally, the formation of new acne scars can be reduced and existing scars can appear lighter. For acne-prone skin we recommend: 100% Pure Vitamin C Serum 100% Pure Vitamin C Mask 5. Hydrating + glow Vitamin C helps the skin retain moisture. More hydration and a more even skin tone give the skin a better glow. For dull and tired skin we recommend: Evolve Bio-Retinol C Booster Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants PM Facial Oil Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants Potent PM Serum 100% Pure Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants Ultra Riché PM Treatment You might also want to read about 100% Pure Multi-Vitamin Antioxidants Potent PM Serum

Organic hair dye: How to cover gray hair naturally

Hair color without synthetic ingredients and unnecessary chemicals is becoming more and more popular. It is even possible to dye gray hair with organic herbal hair colors. Depending on your hair quality and color, some clever tricks may be needed to get a good result. In this post, we answer the most common questions about dyeing hair naturally. Contents: Why should I dye with organic hair color? Dye as often as you want Why is white or gray hair harder to dye with organic hair color? How do I dye gray hair with organic hair colors? Single coloring Two-step coloring with blonde herbal hair color* Step 1: Blonde herbal hair color* Step 2: Blonde to light brown herbal hair color Two-step coloring with red herbal hair color* Step 1: Red herbal hair color* Step 2: Brown to dark herbal hair color What should I consider when choosing hair color? How long does the color last? Things to consider when dyeing with organic hair dyes Preparations Dyeing After dyeing Common questions about herbal hair dyes Why should I dye with organic hair color? As age takes its toll, it’s not just gray hairs that appear. Hair follicles shrink, hair grows more slowly, and hair growth decreases (hair loss). Some also experience thinner hair strands and poorer hair quality. That’s why it’s especially important not to dye hair with chemicals that damage hair and irritate the scalp. Natural and organic hair colors: is made of herbs and is plant-based. contains no chemicals that damage or irritate hair and scalp. coats the hair strands like a protective layer. strengthens the hair and adds shine. is biodegradable and does not harm our environment. Dye as often as you want Because organic hair colors do not alter the hair's natural pigmentation, they do not damage the hair. You can dye your hair as often as you want. The hair just becomes stronger and shinier. Think of each dyeing as a hair treatment! You have to dare to take the step and try. Always do a test strand first (for example, at the nape). Why is white or gray hair harder to dye with organic hair color? The plant pigments in organic hair colors coat the hair strands by binding to the hair's natural pigment. Since gray hair has little pigment and white hair has none at all, plant pigments adhere poorly or not at all. How do I dye gray hair with organic hair colors? In general, plant pigments adhere poorly to pigment-poor hair, except for red henna which is an exception. The red pigment is small and can also adhere well to white hair. This gives us the advantage of being able to add pigment to pigment-poor hair. In this way, it is possible to apply another color on top of the red pigments if you want a color other than red. Single coloring There are a few lucky souls with gray (not white) hair who get a great result without coloring their hair in two steps. Usually, these are people with fine hair strands and not too smooth hair who succeed with just one coloring. This can be anyone from blondes to brunettes. Feel free to try if you think you belong to this minority. Darker hair with white is almost impossible to get a good result with just one coloring. Then two-step coloring is a must. Two-step coloring with blonde herbal hair color Two-step coloring with blonde herbal hair color is for you who: have light hair and want to color to a blonde or light brown shade Step 1: Blonde herbal hair color Since you want a light final result, 100% red henna is far too red and dark for you to use as an intermediate step. The intense red color will shine through your light hair color, which is not always desirable. You should therefore first add red plant pigments with a blonde shade. Yep! Blonde colors contain more or less red (double-check the ingredient list for Lawsonia Inermis). It does not give an intense color result but the gray hairs get a little extra pigment, just enough for the color in step 2 to take hold. Step 2: Blonde to light brown herbal hair color You can color with your second and final herbal hair color immediately after rinsing out the color in step 1 or the next day. The longer you leave the color on, the better the coverage of the color from step 1. Two-step coloring with red herbal hair color Two-step coloring with red hair color or 100% red henna is for you who: want to color to a brown or dark shade. Step 1: Red herbal hair color Choose a hair color with a lot or 100% henna (Lawsonia Inermis). This gives the hair (including white strands) an intense red shade. The more gray or white hair you have, the more red is needed in this step. The hair then gets a lot of extra pigment that sticks well, which is necessary for step 2. Brown and dark shades usually contain a lot of blue. Blue color pigments are large (compared to, for example, red pigments) and therefore need more pigmented hair to adhere well. The advantage of red henna is that it is permanent. Even though the color fades somewhat over time, the pigmentation is enough that next time you only need to color the roots, which saves both time and money. Step 2: Brown to dark herbal hair color The last step with your dark herbal hair dye is done the same way as step 1 but with a brown herbal hair dye. Dye immediately after the red color or the next day. What should I consider when choosing hair color? There are five important things to keep in mind when choosing a color: It is not possible to get a lighter hair color than your own since there are no bleaching agents in the organic hair dyes. However, it is possible to create the illusion of lighter hair. For example, dark brown hair can get lighter highlights from a brown-red color mix. It is possible to get the same or darker color than your own natural hair color. If you choose a hair color that is much darker than your own, a 2-step dyeing process is required whether you have gray hair or not. If you were to dye directly with a dark color, you will very likely get greenish-blue discolorations in your hair. This also applies to those with naturally cool hair colors without red in them, such as ash blonde. Red henna gives a permanent color result. Herbal hair dyes with red tend to last longer. Plant dyes without red henna wash out faster. The red henna is called Lawsonia Inermis in the ingredient list. The powder dyes are a fresh product that gives more intense results compared to the ready-mixed cream dyes in tubes. How long does the color last? Warm and red herbal hair dyes last longer, as red adheres more easily to the hair strands. Red henna gives a permanent result. Hair dyes with some red henna range from semi-permanent to non-permanent. It simply depends on how red the color is. When an herbal hair dye is not permanent, the color lasts as long as a toner. Then the color result lasts about 4 weeks before washing out completely. Things to consider when dyeing with organic hair dyes Organic hair dyes or herbal hair dyes differ from chemical-based hair dyes. For beginners, there are some things that can be good to know. Preparations Clean hair – The hair does not need to be freshly washed. The important thing is that it is free from styling products, dirt, oil, etc. Otherwise, the herbal hair dye may have difficulty adhering to the hair. Herbal hair dyes also adhere poorly to chemically treated hair. Ideally, wait 2 months before dyeing with herbal hair dye if you have recently dyed or chemically treated your hair. Dry/damp hair – It works just as well to dye dry hair as damp (freshly washed) hair. Metals – Herbal hair dye can react with metals. Therefore, do not mix your herbal hair dye in a bowl or with a fork made of metal. Also, do not use metal hair clips when dyeing your hair. Dry skin – If you have dry skin, it’s a good idea to moisturize your face with an oil or richer cream. If the skin still gets stained, it can easily be removed with oil or soap and water. Test first – Always do a strand test! Even though herbal hair dyes are free from allergenic chemicals, you can still react to natural plants. A strand test also works as a check where you can see the result and know how long processing time you need. Dyeing Green plant dye – Regardless of which shade you choose, the color paste will be green, as it consists of finely ground plants. Dye systematically – dye in sections, part by part. White/gray hair – requires extra herbal hair dye paste. The white or gray strands should be completely covered with the color mixture (no gray strands should show). Color brush – forget back brushes and other substitutes. Invest in an herbal hair dye brush, so you can easily dye section by section. It also makes it easy to apply an even and perfect amount of color mixture that covers the strands. The brush can make a big difference and save a lot of time. It will last for many years. Processing time – Longer processing time makes your color last longer and can also give a more intense/darker result (compared to shorter processing time). Leave the color on for 2 hours or longer for maximum color result. After dyeing Shampoo – do not shampoo for 24 hours so the color has a chance to set properly. This will make the color result intense and long-lasting. This is especially important if you are dyeing pigment-poor hair. Organic conditioner without soap agents is fine. Oxidation – the color result can oxidize and darken. Therefore, wait 24 hours before deciding to dye your hair darker. Leftover dye – the mixed paste cannot be saved, but you can save the powder itself. Clip the bag with a bread clip, store it cool and dark, and it will last for several months. Bleaching hair – bleaching hair after an herbal hair dye is a bad idea. Usually, the hair gets discolorations (especially if the hairdresser is not familiar with plant-based dyes). That’s why it’s important to always do a strand test to avoid surprises. Common questions about herbal hair dyes Here we have gathered common questions and answers about herbal hair dyes. Missing a question? Feel free to comment on this post and we will answer your question. Why am I not getting any color result? There can be many reasons such as: your hair was not clean from dirt, oils, styling products, various leave-in products, chemical residues. you let the hair dye process for too short a time. The color mix was too diluted and runny (too much water). The color mix was too dry (too little water), crumbly, and hard to apply. You applied too little hair color to your hair. You chose a color that is lighter than or too close to your own hair color. You have too much pigment-poor hair (gray, white hair, or cool hair color that has no red in it). You need to dye your hair in two steps or add some red to your color mix. What do I do if it turned out too dark? You can shampoo your hair if the color result is too dark or not at all what you expected. This way, you get a weaker or more muted color result. Wash out the color with shampoo once or several times immediately after dyeing. The longer you wait to shampoo, the harder it is to wash out the color. Why didn’t the color result look like the picture on the package? Because natural herbal hair color sits on top of your own hair, the result is individual and completely unique. If your natural hair has variations (which most do), there will be color variations in the dyed hair as well. Also, some hair types absorb red pigments more easily and blue pigments less easily. The same hair color can therefore give different results on different hair. Always do a strand test to avoid unwanted results. If the result wasn’t quite what you wanted, you can dye again with a different color or mix your powder color with another shade. Why does my hair get redder with each dyeing? Most herbal hair colors contain more or less red. Some of the red pigments probably remain and are enhanced with the next dyeing. Instead, dye with a less red color (if you have a blonde shade, choose a lighter blonde). Can I mix the herbal hair colors? The big advantage of herbal hair color in powder form is that you can mix them for a custom color. Mix the powder colors first before adding water. Why don’t I get any color result in the first step of a 2-step dyeing?? Try increasing or maximizing the processing time. If that doesn’t help, you simply need more red color pigments in your first dyeing in step 1. Try adding a tablespoon of red henna during the first dyeing with a blonde shade. If you dyed step 1 with a reddish-brown hair color, you should instead dye with 100% pure henna. Are you wondering about anything else regarding dyeing your hair with herbal hair color, or do you have great tips to share with the rest of us? Please feel free to leave a comment!

Dry or surface-dry skin? Differences and treatment

Is dry skin the same as dehydrated skin? The answer is no. They are two completely different conditions and are treated differently. Learn all about the differences in this post. What is the difference between dry and dehydrated skin? Dry skin is a skin type where the skin lacks sebum (oil), while dehydrated skin is a (temporary) skin condition where the skin suffers from a lack of water and moisture. You can have both dry and dehydrated skin. If dehydration is not treated, you may eventually develop dry skin as a symptom. Read more about dry skin and dehydrated skin. Different signs of dry and dehydrated skin Dryness and dehydration show in different ways, although there are a few similarities: Dehydrated skin can cause fine lines, superficial wrinkles, dull and lifeless skin, uneven skin tone, itching, dark circles, tired sunken eyes, dry lipsDry skin can cause dry and white flakes, flaky skin, rough skin | x | irritated and red skin, tendency to skin problems like eczema, itching, psoriasis, dermatitis, tight feeling especially after showering, bathing or swimming, both small superficial and larger deeper skin cracks that can bleed, and dull skin. Find out if your skin is dehydrated If you don’t see clear signs of any of the different skin conditions, you can do a simple pinch test. Here’s how: Pinch the skin together for a few seconds Release If the skin quickly returns and smooths out immediately, your skin is probably not dehydrated. If the skin slowly or takes a while to return to its original, smooth form, then your skin is likely dehydrated. Which ingredients help with dry skin versus dehydrated skin? 13 NYA hudvårdstrender du bör hålla koll på 2022

13 NEW skincare trends you should watch in 2022

Since the start of the pandemic, the focus on skincare has been huge. People wore less makeup and spent more time on skincare. This trend will continue to be strong this year. Let’s look at the hottest skincare trends of 2022. 1. Bakuchiol Many more products with bakuchiol will be launched. Bakuchiol will become as obvious a star ingredient as vitamin C. Having a good natural alternative to retinol that doesn’t irritate the skin will further strengthen the anti-stress skincare trend. Even, smooth, firm skin without disturbing the skin’s barrier is so 2022. The question is whether the Indian plant Babchi will be grown and harvested in time to meet demand. By the way, it’s good to keep track of the percentage of bakuchiol a product contains to get value for your money. At least if bakuchiol is the main ingredient in a product. Expect to see new eye creams, serums, face creams, and oils starring bakuchiol. 2. Effective and bioactive ingredients Active ingredients like retinol, niacinamide, and vitamin C have trended in recent years and will continue to be popular this year. What we will see more of, however, are other bioactive ingredients. Bakuchiol, which we have already mentioned, but also antioxidants like vitamin E and polyphenols. Ingredients like algae extracts and exotic cold-pressed oils will also become really popular. They are more complex in their composition and usually contain various antioxidants, vitamins, and essential fatty acids that together quickly provide noticeable effects on the skin. Suki Skincare and 100% Pure are examples of brands that are heavily investing in bioactive ingredients. 3. Liposomes When we crave active ingredients, we must not forget that we also want fast-acting and deep-penetrating skincare products. This is where liposomes come into play. Liposomes are very small bubbles made of the same material as our cell membranes. These tiny bubbles encapsulate potent ingredients and deliver them quickly to the deeper layers of the skin where they are released. They are used in skincare to provide faster action with better effect. Liposomes take skincare to the next level and are definitely something we will see more of this year. Here are some examples of facial products with liposomes:Suki Moisture-rich Brightening Mask Suki Radical Results Youth Serum Suki Concentrated Clarifying Toner Suki Resurfacing Enzyme Peel Suki Balancing Day Lotion 4. Smart multi-products There are many advantages to multi-products: We avoid buying a bunch of different products, which saves both money and space in the bathroom cabinet. A safe bet to buy since the products are always used, which reduces waste. They get used up before they go bad. A positive thing for our wallet and the environment. Multi-products are our best gym and travel companions. Besides oils, balms, and salves, other multi-products will trend. Those beyond the ordinary like Bruns balsam nr 3 which can be used as body lotion, cleansing milk for the face, and shaving cream. 5. Tools Being able to get results without products, cosmetic or surgical procedures has long been popular. Various tools that take our skincare routine to a whole new level have long existed and they are here to stay. More brands will release their own tools such as cleansing brushes and suction cups. 6. Zero waste and plastic-free Zero waste is getting hotter every year and this year is no exception. More brands are launching plastic-reduced, plastic-free, and sometimes completely packaging-free alternatives. We will also see more refill systems. A sustainable trend in the right direction! 7. Upcycling Upcycling means taking waste or by-products and transforming them into a completely new product with higher value. The product is therefore recycled upward in value, instead of being downgraded at each recycling step. Upcycling is hotter than ever and the concept will get much more attention in the new year. 8. Concentrated products Sustainability thinking—quality over quantity—will take more space both among manufacturers and consumers. We want a shampoo that lasts 2-3 times longer like shampoo bars, a small, economical drop of toothpaste on the toothbrush. The advantages of concentrated products here are: pure ingredients, minimal or no unnecessary fillers buy less often, reduce shipping/transport better effect, concentrated, undiluted 9. Double masking Double masking is the new trend. During the pandemic, the use of face masks has drastically increased. Instead of going to the salon occasionally, we now aim for frequent mini-facial treatments at home. Double masking means using two or more masks one after the other – just like in a salon treatment. You combine different face masks targeting specific skin issues. For example, you start with an exfoliating mask, then a deep-cleansing one, and finish with a moisturizing mask. Double masking thus provides broader and better results compared to a single mask trying to do everything. NOTE! Combining face masks that do the same thing serves no purpose and can actually over-treat the skin. 10. Anti-blue light The pandemic has made us spend even more time in front of the computer screen. That’s why skincare products that protect against blue light continue to be something we crave. i+m face creams are examples of products that protect the skin against blue light. 11. Good bacteria During the year, we will see more beauty products and even makeup with good bacteria. It involves fermented ingredients, probiotics, and prebiotics in skincare. Good bacteria act as active protection against bad bacteria, soothe inflammations, and counteract skin aging. The good bacteria are an important part of skin health. Brands like 100% Pure and Dr Sannas offer some products with beneficial bacteria. 12. Balancing products Regardless of skin type and age, the golden balance is the ultimate goal. We have now shifted the focus from solving specific skin problems to the overall health of the skin. Skin in balance is fundamentally stronger, self-repairing, and healthier. Strengthening the skin's overall balance is the shortcut to solving all types of skin problems for healthier and more beautiful skin. There are different balances to achieve: balanced sebum production pH balance moisture balance bacteria/microflora balance A single product cannot provide total balance to the skin; all steps in the skincare routine should together support and supply what the skin needs to achieve balance. Sometimes the diet also needs to be adjusted to support the skin from within. 13. Strengthen the skin barrier The desire to strengthen the skin barrier is yet another holistic approach for more resilient skin against external and internal stress factors. As a counterpoint to trendy bioactive products, strengthening anti-stress products will take an increasingly larger role this year. Sometimes the use of cleansers and acids can be excessive, which weakens the skin barrier. Then you need to work on rebuilding the skin barrier. Skin with a damaged or weak skin barrier tends to: be dry and flaky itch, get eczema and similar conditions develop uneven skin tone become sensitive, easily red and inflamed more prone to various skin infections Strengthening the skin barrier is actually quite simple. However, it requires changing your routines more than just changing products: reduce the number of products in the skincare routine so the skin is not overtreated let the skin rest from acids, overly stimulating and active products stop burdening the skin with chemicals and substances it cannot utilize, absorb, or that do not benefit the skin focus on anti-stress: get enough sleep and drink enough, relax, and eat foods that strengthen the body and its defenses When it comes to products, choose mild and pure ones that can hydrate and soothe irritated skin. The products should provide the skin with plenty of moisture and be able to keep the skin hydrated for a long time. Use products with ingredients such as vegetable oils, aloe vera, squalane, ceramides, hyaluronic acid, glycerin, sorbitol, niacinamide (active but mild), and antioxidants that protect the skin from oxidative stress.

Tamanu Oil: Natural Relief for Dry Skin and Eczema

You may have heard of tamanu oil? If not, it’s time to remember it. This beauty oil could be the next it-oil. Contents: What is tamanu oil? 8 benefits of tamanu oil Disadvantages of tamanu oil 8 ways to use tamanu oil ReviewMy sagging skinSmall blemishesMy eczemaFinal thoughts My dry skin My saggy skin Small blemishes My eczema Final note What is tamanu oil? Tamanu oil is a rich and potent nut oil usually pressed from the seeds of the Tamanu trees, but also from their nuts. The trees grow in Asia and Australia. The oil itself has a yellow-green color with a distinct nutty scent. What makes tamanu oil special is: its unique composition of fatty acids that it contains potent antioxidants that it has anti-inflammatory properties that it has a comedogenic rating of 2 out of 5 (where 0 does not clog pores at all) These properties make tamanu oil a very useful ingredient in skincare products, especially since it has been shown to be effective on the skin even in low concentrations and diluted form. 8 benefits of tamanu oil 1. Moisturizes and rebuilds the skin barrier What distinguishes tamanu oil is its rich content of fatty acids compared to other oils. The oil is especially rich in omega 9, 6, and 3. It softens, moisturizes, strengthens the skin barrier, and is therefore beneficial for dry skin. 2. Protects against free radicals Tamanu oil naturally contains potent antioxidants and polyphenols, which protect against oxidative stress caused by air pollution and sunlight. 3. Stimulates collagen formation The reason tamanu oil is a popular anti-aging ingredient is that it promotes the production of collagen and glycosaminoglycans (GAGs). A well-known GAG is hyaluronic acid. GAGs are essential for collagen and elastin formation. Together, these make the skin elastic, firm, and promote damaged skin. 4. Smooths wrinkles As a result of tamanu oil protecting against free radicals, UV damage, and stimulating collagen production, fine lines are smoothed out. Additionally, studies have shown that tamanu oil can absorb UV rays across a fairly broad spectrum. However, more studies are needed to confirm its UV protection. 5. Regenerating Since tamanu oil repairs the skin, it also has some effect on scarring and stretch marks. Existing scars and stretch marks can be reduced and uneven skin smoothed out. 6. Antibacterial properties Tamanu oil is also widely used on acne-prone skin. It has been shown to counteract the bacteria that cause acne (p. acnes and p. granulosum). The oil can therefore help with inflammatory acne. 7. Anti-inflammatory properties For centuries, tamanu oil has been used on various skin problem areas. The oil contains the anti-inflammatory compound calophyllolide, which may explain tamanu oil's positive effect on inflamed eczema, psoriasis, rosacea, red and irritated skin, fungal infections, and similar conditions. Note that tamanu oil cannot replace medication. Always consult a doctor if your skin problems do not improve. Disadvantages of tamanu oil Tamanu oil is a fantastic oil with many uses. However, there are a few things you should keep in mind. Tamanu oil: has a scent that can be difficult to appreciate, especially if you are not used to nutty and herbal scents. You either like the scent or not at all. is toxic to eat and should therefore only be used topically on the skin. Keep the oil out of reach of children. is a nut oil, so it is not suitable for nut allergy sufferers. is very active, which can irritate sensitive skin. Try diluting tamanu oil with a mild oil like almond oil. has a fairly low comedogenic effect on the skin. Despite this, those who easily get clogged skin may have negative results from the oil. To still benefit from tamanu oil’s advantages, you can dilute it with an oil that rates between 0-1 on the comedogenic scale. Examples of such oils are argan oil, hemp seed oil, and safflower oil. 8 ways to use tamanu oil There are many different ways to use tamanu oil. We list the most common ways you can benefit from the oil’s advantages. Remember that the oil is for external use only and you should always seek medical care for skin diseases and skin problems that do not heal. 1. Facial oil The most popular way is to use tamanu oil as a facial oil – in its pure form or diluted with another oil or cream. As a facial oil, tamanu oil suits: skin with early signs of aging mature skin dry skin inflamed skin acne-prone skin skin with a weak skin barrier 2. Skin booster Since tamanu oil is both potent and active, it can be used to boost your skincare products. Simply mix a few drops of tamanu oil with your facial oil, face cream, or DIY face mask. 3. Lightening oil Use tamanu oil to reduce acne scars and scarring. The oil may also have some effect on uneven skin texture. 4. After shave oil Apply to the skin after shaving to prevent inflamed hair follicles, especially with ingrown hairs. 5. Hair oil As a hair oil, tamanu oil provides moisture and shine to the hair and reduces tangling. 6. Scalp oil Try tamanu oil on dry scalp, dandruff, inflammation, infection, itching, and slow/poor hair growth. Apply tamanu oil to the scalp and massage for 10 minutes. Then wash the oil out with a skin-friendly shampoo. 7. Deodorant Tamanu oil can be applied in the armpit to reduce bacteria that cause unpleasant sweat odor. 8. Foot oil Try applying tamanu oil to your feet for athlete's foot. Review Photo taken by @ecobyanna I have tested Tamanu oil from Fushi for 4 weeks and I am completely sold! It is worth knowing that I have dry and eczema-prone 41-year-old skin. I used the Tamanu oil morning and evening at first, then later only in the evening routine. Regarding the scent, I am among those who love it – such a lovely scent combination of nut and herbs. My dry skin Although tamanu oil is considered a heavy oil, it was absorbed immediately by my dry skin. During the first week, the feeling afterward was a bit dry and tight despite two consecutive applications of the oil. The skin looked almost matte, which is strange for an oil that is supposed to be good at nourishing dry skin. By my second week, tamanu oil had difficulty absorbing. My dry skin was simply saturated, supple, and no longer dry. I then needed much less tamanu oil to moisturize my face. Here we have an excellent example of a vegetable oil that on its own can quickly treat very dry skin. My saggy skin Already after one application in the evening, I noticed in the morning that the skin was firmer. The skin became noticeably more elastic, which I found hard to believe. I therefore stopped using tamanu oil and let my skin rest for a week. When I reintroduced tamanu oil, I got the same result. The skin became less saggy after just one application and gradually looked smoother and firmer. It gave the face a mini lift, which probably only I noticed, but still! I was very impressed, and that doesn’t happen too often, I might add. Small blemishes In my youth, I had a lot of acne and foolishly sunbathed a lot without sun protection. My skin is anything but perfect. Nothing major that bothers me, but there are small blemishes that adorn my face. Tamanu oil had no immediate effect on these skin imperfections, but after 1-2 weeks I noticed that the skin looked clearer and the need for foundation was less. Oh, what a joy! My eczema Conveniently, I was out of balance when I tried tamanu oil. I had very troublesome, flare-up eczema and psoriasis on my body that wouldn’t go away. When I used tamanu oil, it didn’t remove the eczema but soothed it enough to give me peace of mind. Therefore, be patient when applying tamanu oil to problematic skin. It takes time to strengthen the skin barrier. Final note After my 4-week trial period, I tested other products and really missed the tamanu oil. Now it is part of my standard routine as I can't be without it for too long. With regular use of tamanu oil, I feel that the skin becomes saturated with it. Nowadays, just a couple of drops of tamanu oil in the evening along with another facial oil or face cream is enough. If you want to try tamanu oil, make sure you buy one that is pure, organic, cold-pressed, and free from additives. The Tamanu oil from Fushi is a high-quality one, freshly pressed from the season's harvest to preserve all the oil's beneficial properties.
