Örtagubben

Örtagubben is one of Sweden’s oldest and most well-known health stores. Their business concept is to offer a wide range of products with the highest possible quality in both products, expertise, and service. At Örtagubben, the motto is “Health above all.” All of their dried herbs are organic and grown on ecological farms in Europe.

Örtagubben was founded in 1930 by the legendary herbal pioneer Harry Blom. He began selling herbs by mail order, which at the time was considered a bold and modern initiative. It was a success, but it wasn't until 1964 that Harry Blom opened his first physical store, Bloms Örtabod, at Luntmakargatan 90. The product range expanded to include homeopathy—another daring move by Harry. The business continued to grow, and in 1972, Örtagubben relocated to its current address at Odengatan 37, becoming one of Sweden's most renowned health stores.

On December 13, 2010, Örtagubben opened a new store at Nybrogatan 41 in Östermalmstorg. The company is still run in the spirit of Harry Blom, even though the founder passed away in 1983. Their philosophy remains the same: offering a broad selection of high-quality products, expert knowledge, and top-tier service. The staff is highly knowledgeable and experienced. The motto "Health above all" is taken seriously. They continuously strive to offer products free from unnecessary additives, cruelty-free, and with a clear and ethical origin. This commitment has built Örtagubben’s strong reputation and earned the trust of customers—just as Harry Blom would have wanted.
