The cocoa comes from a plantation in Ecuador that they oversee and manage together with their partner and cocoa specialist Luis León. Luis is also a co-owner of the company, and he works to educate cooperatives and farmers in the Amazon on how to care for cocoa trees and the environment. Here, cocoa is grown alongside other fruits and spices to create biodiversity and a natural ecosystem.

Nacional cocoa is a flavorful so-called Fine Flavour cocoa known for its fruity aromas with a pleasantly balanced acidity and notes of tropical fruits.
