The cocoa comes from a plantation in Ecuador that they oversee and manage together with their partner and cocoa specialist Luis León. Luis is also a co-owner of the company, and he works to educate cooperatives and farmers in the Amazon on how to care for cocoa trees and the environment. Here, cocoa is grown alongside other fruits and spices to achieve biodiversity and a natural ecosystem.

Cacao Nacional is a flavorful so-called Fine Flavour cocoa known for its fruity aromas with pleasantly balanced acidity and notes of tropical fruits. The chocolate is raw and organic, and free from allergens such as milk, nuts, gluten, and soy.
Taste: This has a hint of salt. The salt comes from Iceland and is produced according to a 200-year-old tradition - letting the geysers do the work. For perfect saltiness, the salt crystals are hand-sprinkled.
