The cocoa comes from a cocoa plantation in Ecuador that they oversee and manage with their partner and cocoa specialist Luis León. Luis is also a co-owner of the company and works to educate cooperatives and growers in the Amazon on how to care for cocoa trees and the environment. Here, cocoa is grown together with other fruits and spices to create diversity and a natural ecosystem.

Cocoa Nacional is a flavorful so-called Fine Flavour cocoa known for its fruity aromas with a pleasantly balanced acidity and hints of tropical fruits. The chocolate is raw and organic, and free from allergens such as milk, nuts, gluten, and soy.
