Do you have sunscreens just sitting on the shelf at home? Here are smart tips on what you can do with them so they get put to use.
Organic sunscreens that turn white on the skin
There are tricks that can make the white film disappear completely or at least become less visible. Here they are!
1. Continue to massage so that your sunscreen melts into the skin. The heat from your hands helps the sunscreen become one with the skin. If you have cold hands, rub them together first to warm them up.
2. Dry skin enhances the whiteness of your physical sunscreen. Make sure to exfoliate and moisturize the skin first, so the sunscreen absorbs more easily into the skin. Body or facial oil under your sunscreen works best at making the white film disappear.
3. Mix your sunscreen with Zuii Luminising Creme
Luminising Creme doesn't have any sun protection itself but gives the most believable sun-tanned skin in an instant. They are incredibly nice to use as they are. Combined with a sunscreen, the result looks more natural on the skin. The sunscreen's texture thins out and the white disappears. The final product becomes like a lightly tinted sunscreen.
4. Mix your sunscreen with a (too dark) liquid foundation
The end result becomes like a tinted sunscreen.
5. Mix your sunscreen with a bronzer in loose powder form
The result becomes like a tinted sunscreen. If your sunscreen is already thick in consistency, a loose powder bronzer can make it even more dry and thick. In that case, add some cream or oil as well.
Sunscreens that become too shiny on the skin
Luster in all its glory. Sometimes it can become too sticky and oily in the heat. This is what you can do.
6. Mix your sunscreen with a loose powder
This gives a less shiny result. It also becomes less cakey compared to if you powder on top of the sunscreen. If your sunscreen is already thick in consistency, add a light cream or lotion as well.
Sunscreens that feel cakey, matte and dry on the skin
A good sunscreen shouldn't be visible on the skin. If you have dry skin, some sunscreens can look dull. Try this trick!
7. Exfoliate your skin and make sure to have (preferably) oil or cream under your sunscreen. Alternatively, you can mix your sunscreen with oil, cream or lotion.
Important to keep in mind
If you're interested in mixing your sunscreen with another product, try with a small amount first. Remember that you get a lower SPF the more you dilute your sunscreen. Good luck! You might be interested in reading:
