When we first tested Lips Intimate Care oils, we were quite skeptical. Why make intimate hygiene complicated when you can wash with regular almond oil? Should you really use a scented oil on your intimate area? Let's answer these questions, as we suspect many others are wondering the same thing. How your intimate area feels is not something people typically talk about. We think the opposite; we need to talk about it more, as many people experience these "non-problems" such as dry mucous membranes, itching, discharge, pain, etc. It's common to experience issues after childbirth or during menopause, but it's not uncommon during youth either. Tight clothing and prolonged sitting don't make things any better.

2 most important rules when washing your intimate area

  1. Only wash the outside

The wonderful thing about our bodies is that they have their own functions that keep us healthy and functioning. That's why you shouldn't disrupt what's natural. For example, girls and women have discharge to keep the vagina clean. This is a completely normal function that everyone experiences and is actually beneficial (though discharge should not have a bad odor or unusual color). Therefore, you don't need to wash inside your intimate area—it's sufficient to wash once daily on the outside using just water or an oil for additional moisture.

2. Don't use soap

Conventional soap disrupts the skin's pH, dries out the skin and mucous membranes, which in turn can cause dryness, itching, and malodorous discharge. We therefore recommend washing your intimate area with only water or an oil. We also don't recommend using creams, even if they're specifically designed for the intimate area. A product containing water always needs preservatives, thickeners, stabilizers, etc., which is not a good idea to have in the vagina. A simple oil does the job just as well as soap, if not better. Natural oils contain plant substances that counteract infections, fungus, and bacteria, as well as fats that help mucous membranes retain moisture.

Lip Intimate Care

If you want to wash your intimate area with an oil, I warmly recommend the washing oils from Lip with natural scent. After just one wash, I understood that this washing oil was something completely different from regular almond oil. This is an intimate oil that has been meticulously developed to achieve a good, not too sticky feeling, and carefully selected plant oils for their positive properties. Their oils are gentle washing and intimate oils used instead of soap to cleanse and care for the intimate area. They're suitable for anyone who wants a mild alternative for cleansing their intimate area.

  • Lip Intimate Care Cleansing + Moisturising Oil Coconut is suitable for everyone with especially sensitive mucous membranes. Also suitable for pregnant women, those who are breastfeeding, or going through menopause.

  • Lip Intimate Care Cleansing + Moisturising Oil Sea Buckthorn is suitable for anyone with dryness in the intimate area, experiencing itching or fungal infections, as well as during menopause.

After using Lip Intimate Care's washing oil for a while, I noticed that my skin was less dry and my intimate area just felt calmer.

Many people say it helps with itching and irritation in the intimate area, and I can certainly believe that.

The oil contains mild oils and plant oils that counteract infections, fungus, and bacteria while keeping mucous membranes moisturized.

All ingredients are gentle enough for the sensitive skin in the intimate area, and Lip Intimate Care's washing oil is even recommended by midwives today.

Not surprising, it's really that good!
