Mesquite originates from Peru. Mesquite contains fiber, protein, calcium, magnesium, potassium, iron and zinc and is used in various culinary dishes for its distinct taste and aroma. The taste and scent of mesquite can be likened to cocoa with caramel. It blends well in, for example, chocolate, ice cream and smoothies.
