The formula contains monolaurin in the form of glyceryl monolaurate, a monoglyceride produced from lauric acid. Lauric acid is one of the main fatty acids in coconut oil and accounts for approximately 50% of its fat content. By combining lauric acid with glycerol, monolaurin is formed, a monoglyceride with special chemical properties.
