About the product
Kukicha is a Japanese green tea that, unlike most other teas, is primarily made from twigs, where 'kuki' means twig and 'cha' means tea. The tea contains a low caffeine content and a high proportion of theanine, which is a calming amino acid. Aromandise Kukicha is made from roasted twigs that have been aged for three years, which is why it's called "3-year tea".
Kukicha has rich woody flavors with refreshing notes typical of Japanese teas. The taste can be described as characteristically round with a mild sweetness. It can be consumed from morning to evening thanks to its low caffeine content (<0.6%) and as a complement to meals. Kukicha can be enjoyed hot, cold, or as iced tea, and it is very popular in the macrobiotic diet.
Preparation: Mix about 1 tsp in a large cup or three teaspoons in a teapot. The ideal water temperature is 95° C. Let steep for about 1 minute. Can be brewed twice.
Contents: 100% twigs of organic roasted green tea (Camelia sinensis).
