Coarse Himalayan Salt

Himalayan crystal salt is a natural rock salt from Pakistan, rich in minerals and trace elements not found in regular white table salt. This salt has a coarse texture with large grains. The salt is mined from the Khewra salt mine, which has been in operation since ancient times.

Himalayan salt has a characteristic pink color due to its iron compounds, while rock salt from other locations can sometimes have yellow or blue tones depending on the mineral content. The salt contains very little iodine, about 5 μg per 100 g.

Usage:

Cooking: Can be used like regular table salt. Its coarse texture makes the salt especially suitable as a finishing salt on dishes, where the large grains provide a pleasant crunch and a mild, natural saltiness. The salt can also be ground to finer grains with a salt grinder or mortar.

Bath salt: Dissolve a scoop of salt in bath water and soak for 20 minutes.

Storage: Store dry and cool at room temperature.
