A fresh morning smoothie for the body's natural detox

We often talk about toxins, heavy metals, and everything the body is exposed to every day.
And yes, there is a lot in our environment that we would rather avoid.

But the body is not passive. It is constantly working to take care of and get rid of what it doesn’t need.

What we can do is support it.

An easy way is through what you start your day with.

This smoothie, created by Anthony Williams, is a small routine that gives the body good conditions. It contains fibers that support digestion and antioxidants that protect the cells.

What you need

  • 2 bananas
  • 1 orange
  • 1 small handful of coriander (you can substitute turmeric if you don’t like coriander)
  • A few flakes of Atlantic dulse
  • 2 tbsp blueberry powder
  • 2–3 dl coconut milk

How to make it

Blend all the ingredients into a smooth smoothie.
Drink immediately, preferably as part of your morning routine.

Why it works

The smoothie contains two important components that support the body’s natural detoxification system: fibers and antioxidants.

Bananas are a good source of fibers that provide gentle support for digestion and the body’s cleansing. Orange contributes vitamin C, which is needed for the production of the antioxidant glutathione, while wild blueberry powder contains anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant that helps protect cells against oxidative stress.

Coriander, which contains phenolic compounds and flavonoids, has in some studies been shown to reduce the harmful effects of heavy metals like lead, arsenic, and cadmium, although studies on humans are still limited.

So, enjoy a fresh start to your day and see it as an easy way to support your body, a little every day.
