Vimergys 5-MTHF is a dietary supplement with an active form of folic acid. The folate comes from the glucosamine salt of (6S)-5-methyltetrahydrofolate, which is a patented form of highly bioavailable methylfolate.

Methylfolate

5-MTHF is the most biologically active form of the B-vitamin folic acid, i.e., methylfolate.

5-MTHF works together with vitamin B12 in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Folate thus contributes to the normal metabolism of homocysteine.
