Recipe for liquid detergent with soap nuts
- Boil 50 g of soap nuts with 1 liter of water for 10-15 minutes.
- Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool.
- When the decoction has cooled, strain out the soap nuts. Store the liquid detergent in a glass bottle.
- Then pour 250 ml of liquid detergent into the detergent compartment of your machine.
- The detergent keeps for about 1-2 weeks without refrigeration. If stored in the fridge, it lasts longer. Be sure to label the bottle clearly so it is not mistaken for food. If you want the detergent to last even longer, you can freeze it in cubes and take out when needed.
- Save the soap nuts as they can be boiled 5 more times, giving you a total of 6 liters of liquid detergent!
- Compost the soap nuts when they are used up.
