Ancient Minerals Magnesium bath flakes are produced by evaporating magnesium oil to form crystals that can dissolve in water. Magnesium bath salt consists of dry flakes of magnesium chloride hexahydrate. These flakes consist of approximately 47% magnesium chloride, with the remainder being water.

Water, 47% Zechstein magnesium chloride (evaporated magnesium oil).
This is magnesium chloride. It is not produced as a magnesium supplement for oral consumption, such as magnesium glycinate (bound to an amino acid), but is a naturally occurring form of magnesium that can be used on the skin. It is found in large quantities in seawater. Genuine Zechstein® magnesium chloride is extracted from ancient underground deposits of magnesium salt in the geological formation of the ancient Zechstein Sea, at a depth of approximately 1,600 metres.

Dark, cool, and dry. Since magnesium attracts water from its surroundings, the flakes will turn into a liquid if left exposed to the air. Therefore, keep the bag tightly sealed.
