Holistic Omega-3 Pro fish oil is an exclusive combination of two premium marine oils: highly concentrated fish oil from Golden Omega® and Zooca® Calanus® Oil. Together, they provide a broad spectrum of omega-3, over 40 naturally occurring fatty acids, and bioactive marine compounds.

Golden Omega®

Golden Omega® is a highly concentrated fish oil in natural triglyceride form, rich in the omega-3 fatty acids EPA and DHA. An advanced purification and concentration process removes unwanted substances while standardizing the EPA and DHA content. The oil is then re-esterified into triglyceride form (TG), the same form of fat that occurs naturally in fish. The result is a pure, highly concentrated omega-3 oil with standardized levels of EPA and DHA in triglyceride form.

• EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function, while DHA also contributes to maintaining normal brain function and vision.
• The beneficial effects are achieved with a daily intake of 250 mg of EPA and DHA for normal heart function, and 250 mg of DHA for normal brain function and vision.

Zooca® Calanus® Oil

To broaden the fatty acid profile, the product also contains Zooca® Calanus® Oil, an unrefined oil from copepods in the Norwegian Sea. Calanus finmarchicus is a small copepod that lives in the North Atlantic. Calanus feeds on phytoplankton, microscopic algae that convert sunlight into energy. The copepods are naturally rich in a broad spectrum of marine fatty acids, making them an interesting raw material for marine oils.

It naturally contains over 40 different fatty acids, including stearidonic acid (SDA) and cetoleic acid, as well as bioactive compounds such as astaxanthin and polycosanols. A large proportion of the fats occur naturally as wax esters, which distinguishes calanus oil from traditional fish oil. The red color of the capsules comes from astaxanthin, a carotenoid pigment that occurs naturally in Zooca® Calanus® Oil
