Description
Ancient Minerals Magnesium Oil Ultra contains highly concentrated, completely pure magnesium chloride extracted from the fossilized seabed of Zechstein, 1,600 to 2,000 m underground in what is now the Netherlands. Well protected for the past 250 million years, it is the purest source of magnesium available.
Transdermal magnesium
Magnesium oil is a transdermal magnesium supplement, specially developed to provide the body with magnesium through the skin, thereby bypassing the digestive system.
This allows rapid absorption into the cells without causing loose stools. Magnesium oil is not an "oil" as the name suggests, but is called this because the high concentration of magnesium chloride in water gives it an oil-like consistency.
Methylsulfonylmethane
MSM is an abbreviation for methylsulfonylmethane. MSM is a form of organic sulfur, a mineral compound, found naturally in the body's bones, connective tissue, and in almost all our cells. Joints, hair, skin, and nails have particularly high concentrations.
Nutritional information
1 ml (six sprays) contains 55 mg of elemental magnesium (15% DRI) and 40 mg of sulfur (MSM).
Ingredients
Water, Zechstein magnesium chloride, methylsulfonylmethane (MSM). It is called magnesium oil, but it contains no oil, only the ingredients listed above.
This is magnesium chloride. It is not produced as a magnesium supplement for oral consumption, such as magnesium glycinate (bound to an amino acid), but is a naturally occurring form of magnesium that can be used on the skin. It is found in large quantities in seawater. Genuine Zechstein® magnesium chloride is extracted from ancient underground deposits of magnesium salt in the geological formation of the ancient Zechstein Sea, at a depth of approximately 1,600 metres. This test protocol (click here) from the company that extracts magnesium chloride from Zechstein shows which trace elements, in addition to magnesium chloride, can be detected and which substances cannot be detected.
Usage
Apply magnesium oil by spraying it directly onto your body or 1-3 times into your palm, then rub it thoroughly into your skin. Repeat and apply to your arms, legs, and any problem areas. Avoid the face, eyes, eczema, and open wounds.
Note: If you have sensitive skin, you may experience a slight tingling or stinging sensation after application; this is not dangerous. If you have very sensitive skin, we recommend magnesium lotion. It is considerably milder. For best absorption, vary the areas of skin where you apply it.
Please note: After rubbing it in, you may notice a slightly salt-like mineral residue remaining as the solution dries on the skin. This is normal, especially in dry climates and heated indoor areas. To avoid this, apply the magnesium oil 20 minutes before showering; after 20 minutes, most of the magnesium ions will have been absorbed, and you can rinse off the solution. You can also remove the mineral residue after 20 minutes by wiping your skin with a damp washcloth.
