Lacto-fermented Raw Pollen 125 grams - Ballot Flurin
In stock
Bees do not eat nectar or pollen directly but naturally mix and transform it through complex enzymatic and fermentation processes with the help of bacteria found in the hive. These microorganisms are an important part of the bees' health and help them create everything they need to survive the winters and thrive during the warmer months.
Unique fermented pollen
After many years of observing hive behavior and more than 10 years of research in natural fermentation, Ballot Flurin has reproduced the same pollen transformation process that the bees themselves use.
Complete, nutritious food
Bee pollen is one of the most complete, nutritious foods found in nature and contains, among other things, almost all known vitamins and minerals, all essential amino acids, most enzymes and coenzymes the body needs, and antioxidants. All these nutrients are in their most bioavailable form and very easily absorbed by the body.
How Ballot-Flurin’s bee pollen is produced
When bees collect nectar from flowers to make honey, they also gather pollen by rubbing against the inside of the flower. This is what causes the bees to “pollinate” the flowers on their journey between them, enabling the plants to reproduce. Honeybees have evolved to collect only the best, most nutritious pollen they can find, investing a lot of time and energy in doing so.
For only a couple of hours per day (to avoid stressing the bees), their bee keepers place “pollen traps” on the hives, which catch some of the pollen the bees have collected when they return from the countryside of France and Spain. They are allowed to take only 300 units per month.
Slow, spontaneous fermentation
Natural bacteria provide a slow, spontaneous fermentation produced from raw mountain honey. It is a Slow-Tech transformation process that takes 80 days. It enriches the raw bee products with natural enzymes. The magic of fermentation causes the raw pollen to react with the other ingredients, resulting in a unique lactic acid fermentation.
