Product information
This organic neem oil is pressed from seeds and kernels of the neem tree to obtain the most potent oil. The oil is a fatty oil and can become completely solid at cooler temperatures. If you want to make it more liquid, you can gently warm it in a water bath.
- For normal, mature, and dry skin. Neem oil suits all skin types but is considered especially good for dry skin.
- The oil’s thick consistency provides protection, and its moisturizing properties help with typical dry skin issues such as itching and red rashes.
- Neem oil is rich in beneficial essential fatty acids and contains large amounts of oleic acid, linoleic acid, palmitic acid, and stearic acid. It helps keep the skin supple and smooth.
- Its antibacterial effects also make the oil good to use for problems, small wounds, and skin fungus.
- Neem oil is very restorative and can help reduce scars, wrinkles, and eczema.
- Neem oil can be used pure, but due to its strong scent, it is better to mix it with other vegetable oils and/or essential oils. The scent is very sharp and distinctive and is usually not appreciated.
- Neem is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
Uses:
Dandruff: Neem oil is effective against dandruff and itching in the scalp. Mix a few drops of neem oil with shampoo to help treat itchy dandruff on the scalp. Leave on for about 2 minutes, then rinse as usual.
Repel insects and bites: Mix neem oil with coconut oil and apply to the skin. Neem oil and coconut oil are also good for the skin, and insects do not like the smell of neem. Unfortunately, we usually do not like the smell of neem either, so you can advantageously mix in essential oils to mask the scent. Insects dislike lemongrass or lavender.
Head lice: Take two parts organic vegetable oil and one part Neem oil, preferably add a few drops of tea tree and lavender essential oils. Be extra thorough on the neck and behind the ears. Make sure to oil the hair all the way to the tips. Leave on for at least 8 hours or overnight. Wash out with an organic shampoo, preferably with lavender, tea tree, or rosemary. Conditioner is needed to dissolve the fatty oil. Then comb the hair carefully with a lice comb to remove dead lice and eggs. Repeat the entire process after one week. It is also recommended to comb the hair daily for 14 days with a lice comb and wash all bedding.
Pesticide: As a natural pesticide, neem oil can be used to prevent pests in the garden. Mix 1 teaspoon of neem oil with 2.5 ml of garden-safe liquid soap. Then add this solution to 1 liter of water. This can then be sprayed on your plants to get rid of insects—but be careful if you have ladybugs, as it can harm them too. You can also apply neem oil directly to the leaves.
